Either these options
>Perform in a live crowd by yourself (aka a sololive. It can be in a big or small venue. 100-200 people going to see yiu is a good feat)
>You have cosplayers or even itashas
>If not going by idol route, you have a long time sponsor relationship from a big multinational company, not a start up

>>Perform in a live crowd by yourself (aka a sololive)
so less than 20 people have ever made it?
I think if you do a 3d concert in front on spectators that they bought tickets to, that is making it. buying a ticket to a concert you are in is key. it's not a free con concert.

>performing in a 3d live at a venue,
3d lives are the meta, especially at a venue. you are not an idol unless you sing and dance in front of a crowd of at least 500. bonus point if you have done multiple solos in said concerts
>collabing/becoming friends with your kamioshi
depending on who she is (ie someone who is a holo or a famous indie), this is very validating
>YouTube award
silver or gold, getting one is the goal of nearly every content creator
>having unaffiliated vtuber merch sold of you at conventions
being able to walk up to a random booth at an anime convention and buy merch of yourself has got to be surreal
>cosplay/istasha
someone cosplaying you at a convention. not someone hired to do it, either.
>be a guest at a major anime convention
like ANYC, AX, ACEN. Not just a meet and greet at a booth who is at the con. Like you are a guest of the convention itself, you do a panel or concert for them.
becoming a marketable plushie used to be, but now not really because they all just ask their fanbase to fund one
