Also I posted this on /g/ and got deleted/warned and told to post here, so that's why this /g/ question is here and not on the appropriate board.

I updated firefox around the same time it happened so I'm looking into if that might be it, but still wondering if anyone else is having this issue, either out of the blue or after updating their browser.

i've had certain browser extensions make 4chanx laggy, for me it was bitwarden

This happened to me. I was using Greasemonkey, and after a Firefox update, 4chanX broke. To solve this, I changed to Violentmonkey, and it's working perfectly.
