Someone I know recently told me that his aunt in Madagascar uses a psychedelic fruit called Iboga for medicinal purposes. Apparently, when she gives it to hardcore drug addicts who are addicted to shit like fentanyl, they are completely cured after their iboga trip. He says that it's at least 10x as powerful as DMT.

I found two news articles about it:

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/little-known-psychedelic-drug-treat-opioid-addiction-kentucky-wants-fi-rcna124062

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jan/23/ibogaine-iboga-drug-addiction-psychedelic-gabon

Has anyone on /x/ ever had any experiences with iboga?

Yes I’m well read and extremely experienced with both iboga root bark and the extracts including ibogaine
I wouldn’t say it’s 10x stronger than dmt in fact by weight dmt is much stronger but it lasts 2-3 days and you get what’s called ataxia (you can barely move) rolling around in bed and barely walk to the bathroom
I did it by myself when I was prescribed fentanyl back in 2010. I have an unnaturally high tolerance for psychedelics despite being 150 pounds so I had to do more than most medical studies I read on the drug. It was pretty wild and helped my withdrawals but didn’t 100% eliminate them like it does for most
My fentanyl was doctor prescribed patches and lollipops so I had a high opiate tolerance too
Most get the NDE life review from it but I actually got to see my past lives and astral projected. I was kind of disappointed I didn’t get the normal life review experience but I got one of those later on dmt. Nausea was really strong and I was vibrating so much people could feel it by touching me days after I recovered
It is no joke but I’m glad I did it. I quit my 7 year opiate habit forever just a month later
University of Miami did studies on it in Puerto Rico and I must’ve read over 100 trip reports on it before I tried it

It's a good thing and that's why the government made it illegal as soon as they learned about it.

I never did the fruit though, I’ve never heard of anyone eating the fruit but I used root bark, crude homemade extract, extract called TA and the strongest version with the least amount of negative side effects the pure ibogaine hcl
If someone is trying to go deep or cure addiction I would say just use ibogaine hcl

I remember when this first hit American markets. By the time I grabbed my wallet to try it they'd made it illegal.

What I find interesting is how reports say they get mother ayahuasca and father iboga spirits speaking to them but for me I had a masculine spirit guide my dmt and feminine guide on iboga
I’ve seen aliens of both sex on both and androgynous aliens on mushrooms

It’s not dangerous. I’ve read hundreds of case studies done on it and seen theories on heart and liver health potentially being important but it’s never been proven. People do lower their tolerance to opioids on it and they can overdose if they go back to using a similar dose of heroin because it binds to opiate receptors
Your link is funny to anyone who has tried ibogaine because it’s not a drug you do multiple times in a row like they warn against

Apparently, it actually tastes good, in stark contrast to psychedelic mushrooms, ayahuasca, etc.

The fruit? How many do you need to eat because I can promise you the root bark tastes like shit and the amount you need of the non extract version is a lot. I usually prefer whole plant material over extracts but when it comes to psychedelics and ibogaine in particular I stopped fucking with whole plant material because the nausea is too much
I’d be curious what people say about eating the fruit though because I’ve never tried it

HST famously accused Hubert Humphrey of being an ibogaine addict in Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72

Do you think it cures gambling addiction and narcissism as well?
>>
>>42237784
It can help a lot with those but it will depend on other factors too.

I wonder if Hunter actually tried ibogaine before making that joke

>>42237784
Cures? In some cases but in most cases it will help you deal with those issues

i knew a guy who used it to quit heroin, he said it was one of the most dysphoric, uncomfortable and delirious experiences he ever had but it had completely cured him of his heroin addiction alongside his violent and narcissistic behaviours that would bring him to use more drugs and hurt more people. it basically broke him out of his death-spiral that he placed himself in, but he was notably different after, same guy but different person. he also mentioned that it was physically painful at points as well. my guess is that it amplified and pushed his mental and physical suffering to such a degree that it reached a singularity/impossible degree, in which it escaped him.

Fairly accurate description. I found datura more delirious and ibogaine not painful but it certainly isn’t a comfortable experience. DMT is better at not being too uncomfortable while providing similar insights
