I hear a lot about "energy weapons" in conspiracy theories. How do they work? Could I build one?

okay
How do they work?
compressed photons and eletrons (aka mircowave when its at light speed.
light speed eletrons burn as they touch a surface
they do melting damage and light damage and destroy circuits
the more power you bring to the weapon the larger the damage and range.
it uses cathode ligt beams powered to lethal state
and uses mirriors and cystals to forcus it into a beam.
you are limited to your power input.
and your beam size and spread,
ofc you are effected by atmospheric effects
so damage dims at range dew to water vaper and air resistance and loss of eletons.
meaning that closer does more damage then far away.
that's energy weapons in a nut shell
think of energy weapons like beamed fire (but has bullet psyhics -minus ballistics) and you get the idea.

Get yourself a magnifying glass and, on a clear sunny day, go outside and place the glass between yours skin and the sun. Its the same concept.
As above so below, as below so above. A lot of modern technology at its core is reverse engineering or mimicking nature. I.e airplanes/jets = birds, machinery = human limbs, bullets = rocks, A.I. = Human brain. Unfortunately the majority of these human inventions are used for bellicosity.

One of my father's friends knew Fermi. Apparently Fermi loved to tell this joke that the famous early photo of him with his equipment was a "photograph of me not discovering nuclear fission", because he actually couldn't get the equipment to work the day the newspaper men showed up so they just had him stage a bunch of random instruments.

Effect on target is based on how much the target is hated, including how jewish the target is.

Perhaps, but it's not going to be man-portable. It would be something you plug in at home and only works if you have power. And you'll find key components may be restricted or impossible to obtain.

This is funny as we have had everyone push wireless ready routers since 2008.
So I've been hard stalked by radio and heat wave glowies for nearly 20 years, no wonder I'm sick all the time they are beaming me to hurt and surveil me for funzies.

Used to be pressure on the crystals of a certain type used to generate the power that is fed into and through a reflective prism mirror of sorts and project out as a beam or pulse.
Could I build one?
Governments in general have laws saying thou shall not, however most experiences and experiments in piezo tend to attract the attention of law enforcement.

In star trek the two major types of energy weapons are “disruptors”, which shoot an antimatter plasma that reacts with matter targets, releasing large amounts of energy and radiation in the reaction. And Phasers which fire phased nadions. Nadions are a fictional subatomic particle that destabilizes and dismantles atomic nucleus, releasing more nadions in the process, causing a cascade effect. Enough nadions can disintegrate a target. When phased and controlled they can be used to transmute atoms and do other useful stuff outside of destruction.

You're living in the past. You can buy a laser that'll blind in in an instant and cause severe burns in seconds and run it off a backpack battery pack now, all from the comfort of your home without even an ID check in the US.

well the popular conspiracy theory energy weapons sure.
but there's just plain visible light lasers intense enough to shoot down drones and missiles, that is also a direct energy weapon. That's probably closer to the star trek example he posted an image of anyway. Though Star Trek phasers I think shot a beam of charged subatomic particles as their direct energy.

>I hear a lot about "energy weapons" in conspiracy theories. How do they work?
Depends on the conspiracy. As other anons pointed out, all weapons are energy weapons. Conspiracies like the Israeli space laser are fucking stupid. Stuff like the Cuban embassy sonic weapon proved to be true. Various anti-drone weapons targeting electronics (essentially a directed EMP) are in use today. You have to be more specific.
>Could I build one?
Again, it depends on the type of energy weapon you are trying to build and your personal skill level. I would recommend not discussing this online though.

There you go!
*HINT* That last paper, "Generation of Electromagnetic Pulses by Stacking of Coherent Transients" is pretty hard to find a free copy of. Might be a good one to look specifically into.
I don't know anything for sure I just like to spread info that might be useful to others.

Was that sonic or microwave?

I despised Neelix but I never wished for him to be the victim of a phaser blast. I wanted him put out of an airlock whilst the crew partied along with guest stars from other trek shows.

Fuck off with your un-deadly weapons. Those are toys compared to the real thing.
