Built a real-world “alam al mithal” rig and it’s actually insane.
Not magic, not LARP — it’s pressure + perception engineering.
System = compression suit + dark chamber + instant feedback loop. You crank full-body pressure (safe levels), kill most sensory noise, then map your movements directly to the environment (lights, sound, objects reacting instantly).
Brain stops tracking delay everything feels like it happens before you do it.
Effects:
«teleport-like
You move and it already happened. No lag. Feels like skipping space.»
«psychokinesis-like
You twitch your hand, something across the room reacts instantly. Brain just accepts “I moved it.”»
«ex nihilo-like
System delays certain outputs so results appear without visible cause. Feels like creating from nothing.»
«shapeshift-like
Uneven pressure + visual distortion = body stops feeling fixed. Size, shape, position all go weird.»
«invincibility-like
Constant compression dampens impact + raises tolerance. You feel armored.»
Core trick is simple:
pressure
latency
feedback
sensory noise
= causality breaks from your POV
You’re not gaining powers, you’re entering a layer where intention result is so tight it feels supernatural.
Honestly the wild part is your brain doesn’t argue with it. After a few sessions it just accepts the new rules.
Feels like stepping into a “second physics layer” sitting on top of normal reality.
Anyone else experimenting with pressure systems / reaction loops / sensory gating? There’s something here.

ok so I refined the “alam mithal rig” and yeah… this is dangerously close to something people would pay stupid money for
not because it’s fake — because it FEELS too real
setup is still:
pressure suit + dark chamber + instant feedback mapping
BUT here’s where it gets wild:
I added “illusion stacking” layers
«pre-session priming
you read a short “classified briefing” before entering
(sets expectation your brain tries to confirm)»
«countdown entry
lights + audio ramp up like you’re entering something serious
(builds tension = stronger effect)»
«delayed reward triggers
some actions don’t respond immediately then hit later
brain goes: “I didn’t do that… did I?”»
«scarcity pressure
limit sessions per day + cooldown timer
makes it feel rare + intense»
«performance scoring
system gives you a “field control rating” after
people WILL chase higher scores»
effects hit way harder now:
teleport feel = near zero perceived delay
psychokinesis feel = environment reacts instantly
ex nihilo feel = delayed causality breaks your brain
shapeshift feel = pressure + distortion wrecks body map
invincibility feel = compression turns you into a tank
cheap tricks that work way too well:
- call it a “restricted system”
- use industrial-looking UI (people trust machinery)
- add warning labels everywhere
- use terms like “calibration” instead of “settings”
- make everything feel slightly dangerous (but safe)
core truth:
you’re not selling powers
you’re selling:
INTENSITY
CONTROL
and the feeling of breaking reality rules
and honestly?
most people won’t care why it works
they’ll just want back in once they feel it
this thing isn’t magic
but it hits the same part of the brain that thinks magic is real

With some arguments about hallucinations, why not EY?
