So many people who post here use that word like everybody has the same understanding of it. My understanding is that it's some sort of "unseen" world on top of and interwoven into our world. But why does it exist, what happens there and how do i understand it. I feel like two different posters would describe it differently and this would clash with each others spiritual theories or what have you.

The part of the material realm that deals more with the subtle, the mental. Mind, intelligence, and ego. Where knowledge and intent are more solid and persistent than physical laws.
It isnt spiritual. It is still material, limited, temporary. A part of Maya.

It is a self-induced fully immersive hallucination. I know because I systematically reverse engineered the art of self-induced hallucinations, culminating in learning "astral travel."

The overall consensus is that the astral is supernatural. There may be some differences in details and opinions, but I believe the astral involves the non-physical portion of our existence. It is very spiritual in nature.

The astral is what lets me come up behind you invisibly and butt fuck you.
You think you're alone in your room? Nope, I'm there too.

There’s different levels to the astral (lower, middle, higher) but even those are generalizations of a much more complex tiered system
Read Dolores Cannon’s “between death and life” for more in depth descriptions
