>What to expect There are lots of different ways to get stuck into zorbing. It usually involves an adventure inside an inflatable ball, but you could end up rolling down a hill, travelling across water, or even playing football. You may find that different activities suit people of different ages – chat to whoever will run to session to see what they’d recommend for your group.
>What you’ll learn Most people probably won’t have tried zorbing before, so it’ll give people a chance to take a deep breath and try something new. They’ll have to dig deep and support each other to find their brave and give it a go.
>Fun facts The greatest distance travelled by a zorb ball in a single roll is 570 metres. The record’s held by Steve Camp from South Africa, though his magnificent journey happened in New Zealand in November 2006. How far did you travel?
>Handy hints -Dress for the occasion. Check with the centre to see if they have any rules about what you should (or shouldn’t) wear, and pass the information on to everyone else. -Grab some extra hair bobbles. People with long hair will probably need to tie it back. Take a few extra hair ties, just in case anyone forgets. -Have something else planned. If you’ll have to take it in turns, prepare another activity to keep everyone entertained when it isn’t their turn in a zorb.
>>201048 You have no control over zorb. It's the equivalent of throwing glider with locked controls off the cliff and hope it will still land perfectly somehow. It only works in extreeeeeemely controlled environment.
>>167995 I'd like the concept of zorbing better if it was more like super monkey ball. When are they gonna make monkey ball zorbing? Maybe then it actually would be an extreme sport.
>>206135 They had something like that back in the 1972 Olympics, there was a track with jumps and stuff. But what the hell happened, I didn't see any zorbing this year, I thought they were bringing it back
>>215184 I think it's acceptable given that all the original photos were burned by the anti-zorb lobby before they could be digitized. Speaking of lobbies, did you know there was a zorb event planned for 2012 Olympics in London? We were so close to greatness...
>>215234 if zorbing really becomes a permanent olympic sport, all of the underground zorbing rings will lose what makes them special when all he proffesionals pivot over to officially sanctioned events. The olympic committees would probably force everyone to wear special suits for saftey reasons, outlaw the use of lubricants, and forbid zorb decorating. not to mention the substance abuse/doping etc, but everybody already knows that's a problem.
>>218497 >zorb suits And then they'll ban the event because everyone passed out from heat stroke. But to be honest, I don't think underground zorbing is all that great. Needlessly dangerous courses only attract bloodthirsty rubbernecks, and they will never appreciate technical zorbing.
KEEP ZORBIN ZORBIN ZORBIN ZORBIN (WHAT?) KEEP ZORBIN ZORBIN ZORBIN (C'MON) NOW I KNOW YOU BE LOVIN THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE Z-O-R-B CLIMB IN HAVE NO FEAR PEOPLE IN THE ORB KEEP YOUR HANDS TO THE SKY CAUSE IF YOU FALL OUT, THEN YOU WILL DIE
>>235019 Some people have speculated it was the beginning of the demise of ska, when people realized how dangerous it can be to combine trumpets and saxophones with extreme sports
>put heart and soul in to zorb training >sell car to upgrade to a pro level zorb >compete in international zorb comps against the three other guys >olympics show interest >now is my time to shine! >ioc pass on it >two of the three other guys drop out of the sport >it's just me and the zorb national champion of Finland One day
