VERY nervous about the rerun banner because I have 85k Oroberries but I have to roll for Gilberta now that I have a chance to but idk if it'll take me to hard pity and I still need Mi Fu. I hope I luckshit my first 50/50 on the rerun.

For those not aware, these were the characters in the early 2024 technical test, the first playable version of Arknights: Endfield.
Some differences: >all of them were 5*, except Endmin who was the only 6* >there were only 3 elements: Heat, Pulse (Electric) and Crystal (Cryo). There was no Nature or Physical. >male Endmin wasn't actually available in the technical test, only female Endmin >Endmin was a Pulse character and had two skills: a straight line dash attack, and a wide area sweep. You could only equip one skill at a time through a menu and you and couldn't change them mid-battle. >Wulfgard used a greatsword instead of guns >Chen Qianyu was a Crystal operator >Angelina (Gilberta) was a Heat operator >Fjall was a Crystal Defender operator with healing ability >Instead of combo skills, operators had a "Pursuit skill", which they could activate immediately after performing their battle skill or ultimate skill >for example, Wulfgard's battle skill was an uppercut with the sword, and his pursuit skill would follow up with a jump and a downward slam to strike the enemies in the air >Angelina's ultimate created an anti-gravity field, and her pursuit skill enhanced her normal attacks by making her shoot Arts arrows using her staff as a bow

Honestly not sure what I'm looking forward too. I'm glad we don't have a bullshit rng sink for gear grinding but the flip side of that is it takes ages to build a team and how do you even know if you like said team until you build it? More characters mean the mountain gets higher.

>>566771514 I genuinely prefer the MC of a gacha game to be a camerawoman most of the time, but this is a silly complaint for people to make; HG had a story they wanted to tell, and that plot required the MC to be literally the most important person in the world. It may not be to everyone's tastes, but it's far from an uncommon archetype, and once you're using it, the question of "well, why SHOULDN'T the MC just fix this themselves?" is inevitable. Plus, once you're putting the MC on the map... Players want to use her. The Doctor canonically stayed on the landship most of the time, and isn't an operator; it's waaay easier to keep the Doctor out of stories than a 3D RPG where you, the character, just... Walk into the story, and you'd have to write up excuses why they can't.
That said, I do hope they expand the use of Immersion Mode to more quests that don't involve the MC. And maybe include a "Suggested Mode" that pushes you to use certain operators canonically, but doesn't require it.
now that the dust has settled does anyone know what's the next factory recipe for tomorrow, it only shows phase 1 and 2, must be a bug right? they wouldn't just abandon us with +20 extra days of zero content, right? haha...
They should have done the factory event in Valley 4 instead of Wuling. It would be a good excuse to revisit it since people don't care about Valley 4 bucks now.

Today, I finished collecting the essences for the last of my weapons. All I'm missing are the four essences for the signature weapons I don't own, and it'd be a bit too silly to aim for those as well. Now... I guess I'll finish promoting the rest of my operators to max promotion. I have everyone at 80, so it's time for crisis drill farming I suppose. Should be able to do about one operator per day, so that should take me a good two weeks.
>>566798460 if you want argument in terms of censorship, you should use Snowbreak since they have better goonerslop than your temuGta even if they are censored
People whining about censorship in character models are weird. If the new version looks shit, complain about that, it's a real problem. Otherwise, do people really spend any meaningful time staring at character models and jacking off?
>>566799385 Probably not. The go watch porn crowd loses the plot when it's simply that Chinese gambling simulators are (were?) the last bastion of attractive female design and fan service.
>>566799385 They are weird because they are shitposting/baiting/trolling 90% of the time the other 10% is some weird shutin with an anarchy complex where anything that might be implied as infringing upon their perceived freedom is a personal attack on their grandma's dog.
>>566799385 i'd rather them use the "no content arguments" since that is valid, using their character models (which looks like a barely upgraded genshin model) is not the win they think it is, especially since they are on UE5 as well

Hoo boy. Watching a guy crash out and fight everyone about how the first stage of the new Umbral Monument is an obvious Gilberta shill, because he didn't pull her and struggles to clear it, is... Well, frankly pretty embarrassing and uncomfortable. Like watching a grown adult throw a toddler tantrum in public.
>>566801720 In the first stage, the zombies become stronger the longer they're alive (kind of like the first Umbrals stage 2, but melee instead of ranged). If you don't have adequate DPS (or a boatload of sustain), I could see it being a challenge?
The second was the Rhino, right? Not a clue. I saw someone else mention the Rhino oneshot them, so I guess it's a really strong Rhino, but it doesn't otherwise have a gimmick that I noticed. But, well, Fangyi killed everything there pretty quickly for me.
>>566802235 And Tangtang and Fangyi's AoE just clears everything out without needing the gathering. I assume Laeva rocks there as well, but I don't have her. I think the only 6*s that might have trouble with the zombie mob are Rossi, Yvonne, and Last Rite?...
>>566802318 Serious answer, though, I assume it's CCs and Tier Lists talking about how she's the best person to include in every team creating the impression amongst idiots that she's some sort of hyper-broken unit, as opposed to a generally useful buff to throw into any team that doesn't have something more specifically useful.
>>566803019 I ran her in fire just fine for a high AOE focus team ake and laev ultmaxxed. It's unconventional, but very comfortable and still trimmed everything easily. >need damage? perlica >need aoe damage? surtr >need st damage? perlica >need to press buttons? ake is there to help wit her aoe heat and sp regen >Spurts doesn't do EBS in ult, and just holds her stacks unless there are many enemies so she can EBS into combo into re-ult immediately after ult ends, and by doing this she is generating stacks for perlica/gilberta to react
>>566802625 She's what a Chinese from the boonies speaking English sounds like. AK pick VAs with some sort of "authenticity" standards for EN, that's how you end up with operators with strong accents. It can be pretty hit or miss, but generally I think it's a nice touch.

>>566817604 If you main her you really shouldnt settle for not a perfect essence. You pick essences according to weapon skills not character stats. In case of the Last Rite glowstick you can see them on the right: Strength boost, Attack boost, Detonate
What is /end/'s thoughts on Silver Palace? Will we be trying it out? The combat (which is more akin to Sekiro/Bloodborne with a heavy parry focus, with every character having their own unique finisher move with a dynamic camera angle change which looks cool as hell) looks way better than Endfield's and beta testers have consistently priased the writing (you play as a detective in a Victorian-London inspired setting dealing with monsters like the Witcher while wielding occult powers). You also have a mount that can fly.
>>566817779 It's been mentioned here before. More than anything I like how the protagonist actually talks a lot. It annoys me how little Endmin speaks, and how randomly they choose when Endmin is voiced.

>>566818210 It was supposed to be a blatant warframe copy but I think they tried to pivot into a gacha but went back to WF, and now it's a weird mix of two. It was released a year back, but it came to Steam in January which is when I picked it up and played for a week until Endfield. I haven't logged on since Jan so I'm safe from all the hacks.
The story is surprisingly good, not a fluke at all. It's very well presented and written compared to early chapters Arknights. The gameplay feels cheap and sloppy but it's the story makes me want to return and catch up on it.
Mifu: Phys Defender, greatsword Basic Attack: The left-hand fist set has four shotgun shells that deal area damage and automatically reload. Battle Skill: After charging up, Mifu dashes forward and unleashes a right punch. The dash distance, knockback distance, and damage increase based on the charging time, and a layer of vulnerable is applied. If the enemy is knocked back to a wall, it will deal additional damage and trigger [Slam]. Combo Skill: Triggers when enemy's interruptable skill goes off. Mifu dashes to the controlled operator to take damage in their stead and counterattacks, applying [Lift]. If Mifu is airborn, she will instead use a downward slam to deal fan-shaped area damage and apply [knockdown]. Ultimate Skill: Mifu leaps into the air, recovering 10% of her health per second. She can choose her landing point within 6 seconds and descend from the sky, consuming the vulnerability of all targets within range and dealing circular area damage. The damage multiplier increases based on the number of vulnerability stacks consumed, and the damage decreases from the center outwards. Damage dealt at the center point is always a critical hit. Talent 1: Mifu's skills will cause Mifu to gain excessive health when they deal damage. Talent 2: When Mifu takes damage, she blocks 70% of that damage. Once the blocked damage reaches a certain % of Mifu's current HP, the block effect will be removed and the damage, knockback effect and dash distance of the next combat skill will be enhanced. This talent has a 15-second cooldown.
>>566818691 DNA unironically needs to just go under because their devs are retarded but have lowlight steal their writer because whatever they're writing will unironically save endfield
>>566818832 >Combo Skill: Triggers when enemy's interruptable skill goes off I know we're making shit up but this is just bad, no one would even think of putting this in the game
>>566818932 Battle Skill: Loses ability to attack and summons bloody scythes around himself and controlled operator to slash at all surrounding enemies, dealing % ATK as Heat damage every 0.5s Combo skill: Drives spears in up to 3 nearby enemies, attacking twice consecutively and applying heat susceptibility Ultimate: Increases ATK and attack speed of Camille and controlled operator, and immediately summons Heart Candles tied to up to 3 nearby enemies with the highest HP; attacks against the Heart Candles deal % of Camille's ATK to tied enemies; Heart Candles inherit 60% of the corresponding enemy's current HP, and when attacked, that enemy will lose the same amount of HP as the Heart Candle Talent 1: Attacks Steal ATK% Max HP from the target (Caps at ATK%) and deal ATK% heat damage per second to the target for 10s Talent 2: Battle Skill upgraded: grants controlled operator interruption immunity and protection.
>>566818832 >>566819042 >If Mifu is airborn, she will instead use a downward slam to deal fan-shaped area damage and apply [knockdown]. when will we get our team to jump on their own

>>566817779 My personal hook in giving a gacha a shot is character design appeal. Laev was my main hook in Endfield, Changli for Wuwa, Ellen for ZZZ, Ruan Mei for HSR, etc. This is also the reason why I never bothered with NTE as there were no characters that really caught my eye.
For Silver Palace, the initial character that caught my eye was the female MC. Cinderella here also looks mighty gorgeous. So yeah, I'll probably give it a shot.
>>566819358 I think Wuling won't have new AIC content for 1.3 and we'll instead get V4 AIC expansion. There's no new gear components for wuling in the datamines so they should be in V4.
>>566819284 If she is in 1.4 as the speculated half anni unit, then she has 1 patch to appear in the game to start making her self relevant, but she won't be stealing the show because vampfag is back to V4 and MiFu still needs her spotlight She can be the reason why wuling exists sure, but so does leek, and leek has 3 patches to jerk her off and then some more later because we're still not done with chinkslop Lore relevance isn't quite the same as having the devs spoonfeed the character into your face every 4 steps.
Why is it only in Arknights threads where there's always a couple of people ready at all times to jump out of some random crack in the wall out of nowhere to accuse you of not reading the story if you make a nonchalant post about a character not being that important yet or for some other inane reason?
I've never seen this behavior in other threads. Is the story and characters in Arknights that special?
>>566819474 Leek is a manager of a small (but important) science station. Lettuce is a fucking fragment of a space whale chinky doragon God that's responsible for chinky state functioning, saw Precursors arriving to Terra and had his own salvation project to survive Observers/Lumberjack
>>566819517 if you are talking about OG, basically yes, thats all the game is, its just a Visual Novel with an attached TD game to it. So their main focus would always be Story and Character
>>566819582 Trve, but I don't think they can give her enough content for her arrival. Most likely is that we keep learning about her way after her banner's gone - if we haven't left chinkland by then

>>566819474 doesn't matter how much patches she needs before releasing, the Sui Proxy Brat has the background of the Sui Storyline from OGAK, whether its good or bad. it is also the devs time to push the Sui in the main story now, unlike in OGAK, cause i still consider it a sidestory there.
>>566819647 I actually play arknights for the tower defence, the cute characters is what drew me in. Couldn't care about the story at all so with each event and stage gimmick i just make up a fun headcannon of what's going on

I'm just producing shit because the game tell me to produce it. I'm not producing shit because I want to accomplish a specific goal or strategic reason. >>566828062 >They fundamentally CANNOT do the same shit they could afford to do with OG AK in Endfield. Yes they fucking can, you don't HAVE to revolve your entire game around a faceless MC like genshin, you don't HAVE to design your entire game and story like Genshin. You do know lots and lots and lots of 3D games manage to do stuff that's not like Genshin?
>>566828428 >>game is in beta and already got outfits for characters >already beaten Endfield before it's out Legitimately Hypergryph could fucking never
>>566828141 Don't be a dense motherfucker, at no point did I ever mention or imply they are copying or trying to be Genshin (regardless of how true and intended by the devs that may be). I have yet to see ANY 3D game (not just gacha) have OG AK's amount of (playable or focused on) characters and wordslop, as well as constantly (and drastically) changing locations, not even the story movie games like Life is Strange and other bullshit like that.
>>566828858 >OG AK's amount of (playable or focused on) characters and wordslop, as well as constantly (and drastically) changing locations That's not a good thing at all. I'd even say it's the worst part of Arknights. Not having a clear setting, clear cast of characters, clear intrigue, clear goals and stakes feels lazy and schizophrenic.
>>566829041 Terra is a very clear setting. The nations, their borders, their politics, all of it very well defined and explored. Endfield screwed up by dumbing down all of the Terran factions and cramming them into three big ones + the protagonist group. This is also why there is zero variety in enemies, it's just nonstop landbreakers and aggeloi. Just brainless enemies that don't have any real motivations and you feel nothing by defeating them.
>>566829589 No shit, Dijiang is something cobbled together by a civ that can barely even get into space in the first place, it probably doesn't even have any weapons on it at all
>>566829525 >Terra is a very clear setting. The nations, their borders, their politics, all of it very well defined and explored. Absolutely not. For the longest time we didn't even have a proper world map (We still don't btw). Which is insane for what looks like a game about power play and geopolitics. But in reality the entire Terra setting is just a mindless soup of clichés Lowlight took from the real world. For some reason AK enjoyers really think that quantity is a quality of its own. The "setting" is spread so much but it's like 2mm deep and the moment you try to piece everything together it falls apart.
>>566829525 >Terra is a very clear setting. Oh hell no, it's very kitchen sink itself, and blatantly ripping off different real world countries' histories at various different time points, so it's not even consistent in that. >The nations, their borders, their politics, all of it very well defined and explored. Not really, a lot of the nations and interactions are much simplified versions of the IRL inspirations. And not all of them have had even near the same amount of screen time or effort put into them. >Endfield screwed up by dumbing down all of the Terran factions and cramming them into three big ones + the protagonist group. Simplifying the scale makes a lot more sense for both a 3D game AND for a "pioneering a hostile new world" game world scenario, which you're stubbornly refusing to acknowledge, because you're bullishly set on wanting Endfield to be AK2, where it's been made very clear it's not meant to be that. >This is also why there is zero variety in enemies, it's just nonstop landbreakers and aggeloi. Just brainless enemies that don't have any real motivations and you feel nothing by defeating them. Just because you don't like the simplified "bug hunt" aliens, the "totally not daemons and/or Cthulhu cosmic aliens" nor the "Mad Max psychic junkies" doesn't mean they aren't portrayed or used well, including justifications or motivations, where applicable, to the scope we've been allowed to be shown so far by the game.
>>566830308 Why are you still making gourds? Surely you've already trimmed the medal and bought out the shop. The second I finished cleaning out the shop I reverted my factory to pre-event state to get ready to expand it with the extra stuff from the test zone
>>566830069 >>566830132 >it's bad because it's inspired by IRL stuff Haha, no. A single mid-level nation in Terra has more depth than the entirety of Endfield. /akg/ was full of lore discussions in the first few months whereas in the same timeframe there is quite literally nothing to discuss here, which contributes to why this general is so dead. But I guess Ardashir making vague statements is your preferred method of worldbuilding so carry on.
>>566830948 >inspired by IRL stuff It's not inspired. It's literally just a collection of the most basic cliches. It's something a 12yo kid would come up with.
>>566830398 You can save hetonite and originium by going all in on gourds. I capped out on every originium product because of this event and don't have to worry if I'll ever need more gear parts in the future
>>566828596 If NTE had taken off and showed how much people are willing to spend on outfits they would have done it too. Nobody out-greeds HG. Sadly it flopped so we won't be getting outfits anytime soon.
>>566830948 vagueposting is THE thing among twitter sisters right now, so more and more gacha games will do it. NTE is doing it. The current wuwa story is already doing it and hoyo will follow soon. Every single games main story will just be a villain vagueposting during cutscenes.
>>566830948 the game is literally a fantasy game with a sci-fi skin. not a single enemy in the game even has a gun. even enemies in final fantasy games have guns. we haven't fought a single soldier, mech or robot, or anything that actually looks like an alien and not a mob you'd find in world of Warcraft. this is supposed to be a fucking sci-fi game
>>566831935 you've already compared launch stats to tail end of content patch for a live service game once you dont need to do it again if this was 3 months into NTE's release then you maybe have a point but we arent
>>566831935 >>566832225 but you can continue using these stats for how good a game is ofc; if you also want to tell the world that Censored Snowbreak is doing better launch NTE
>>566832127 >this is supposed to be a fucking sci-fi game Says who? You need to understand that nothing is fixed or consistent inside Lowlight's vision.
>>566830948 >it's bad because it's inspired by IRL stuff I never implied that. I implied that copying and mix-and-matching IRL stuff is easy, and that perceived complexity does not equal quality (writing or world building) or "depth" OG AK was full of lore discussions at the beginning because it was literally a new setting. Endfield is spin-off that still takes place within that setting, so by default it cannot be as fresh as OG AK was originally, this is simple to understand. Just because you want the perceived depth of realpolitik doesn't mean that that's the only way to add depth or even quality into a story or world. Stop trying to make subjective elements into objective qualitative statements, please. Yes, we get it, Endfield isn't OG AK, but that is NOT an objective flaw in any way whatsoever, no matter how much you're ass blasted about this change of direction/vision.
>>566833861 CC prep, we'll see if they add any electro/support units that might replace the existing go-to electro team for her. Don't have the horse/perlican built yet, might as well wait and see what the proxy does
>>566833979 Nothing's going to replace Perlica anytime. And Leek team's 4th slot is still free real estate. That's more likely to get filled first before anyone starts getting replaced
>>566832127 >the game is literally a fantasy game with a sci-fi skin. You are aware that fantasy is literally a sub-genre of science fiction, right? ALL fantasy is science fiction (because virtually all fantasy fiction is based on mixing usually alternate human history with mythology, which are branches of history, archaeology and anthropology, all branches of science), but not vice-versa. >not a single enemy in the game even has a gun. Why does every sci-fi setting have to have guns, especially one where nanomachine plant-rocks enable quantum mechanical manipulation at almost literal magical ability levels, such as Originium in AKverse? At this point it's basically just an aesthetic choice, and justifications exist in-universe both for the existence AND absence of (prevalence) of guns, for any possible situation. >even enemies in final fantasy games have guns. Final Fantasy games vary wildly from pure western(ish)-style fantasy settings to anything between a stereotypical 90's shonen anime to post-apo-post-scifi mashups and tend to be massive kitchen sink settings (as is common for JRPGs of its styling) >we haven't fought a single soldier, mech or robot, Because we ARE on the only side that pretty much has soldiers. Mechs and robots haven't appeared either due to literal game budget reasons, or possibly due to several possible in-universe justifications (such as general loss of tech level and much weaker industry capabilities compared to OG AK), and you could technically consider the aggeloi as robots, since there is plenty evidence that suggests they might actually be that for the "aether daemons" >or anything that actually looks like an alien and not a mob you'd find in world of Warcraft. Aliens can look like literally almost anything, just saying, and generally any non-humanoid ones are praised for being much more original. Also, WoW is not a pure fantasy setting and is a similar full hodge-podge kitchen sink AD2000 magazine style, ala most FF games or JRPGs
>chendmin + alesh >trigger chen combo into endmin combo into consume crystal for alesh combo who for 4th slot pog? would his combo trigger alongside alesh
>>566837686 I still find it super funny that they moefied her she used to look like an evil fish, now she just looks like a pouty tsundere they can't be less subtle with her being open to be playable in the future
>>566832964 Let me give you a real pro tip here. Go to your camera, on the drop down menu turn this off and stay in camera mode. You'll see facility buildings vanish and your teammates will plant without issue. Then exit camera mode once they finish.
>>566837956 They also changed pretty much all her dialogue to be directly referring to the Endministrator in a not so offensive way instead of calling the whole party scum and disappointments
>>566831075 Since when Spain had zerg invasion problem, Finland had cyclops, Russia fought demons in the north and had a decentralized army groups that dare to oppose the emperor, Austrian nobility built giant spires and USA didn't have a nigger problem?
>>566838792 >when ENDFIELD INDUSTRIES sends their people, they aren't sending their best. They're sending retarded lungs, illiterate cats, or a penguin
>>566838929 I don't know if you are pretending or an actual retard but you are not talking about the setting. You are talking about stuff that happens inside the setting.
>>566839034 You're just burning through artificing for pitiful min-max scraps at that point. No matter what, the 3rd line stat makes the most difference in the long run. The other two are a waste and have no practical purpose raising aside from autism at the moment
I just nooticed that we are missing a 6* Physical Striker (Main DPS) and that the only Physical Striker in the game is fucking Da Pan. I remain hopeful...
>>566839456 Endmin isn't a Striker, she's a Guard. Meaning her main role isn't doing the most damage (though she can as a Sub-DPS), but applying physical statuses and vulnerability
>>566841057 Mi Fu likes to eat. Was a quarreller tomboy during her qingbo days. She honors warriors and gives speeches for the dead. She is a loyal woman and cute. She seems to like to put on make up too.
>>566817779 >more openworldslop >more swapslop >more UEslop >cliché and beaten story This game and a bunch of others coming after NTE and Ananta are basically DoA because they don't bring anything new to differentiate themselves from Genshin and its already established clones. Think, why would anyone stop playing those games to play these? The only thing meaningfully changing are the graphics, and even then you have to have low IQ to give a fuck about this in anime styled games.
The last saving grace of this game is the fact that I can do my dailies under a minute. Would have uninstalled a long time ago, but this way at least I can ride this out in hope for a decent endgame mode.
>>566846196 no you get a new character every 3 months and even if your ship somehow didn't make enough literally one trip around the world is enough to max a character whats the point in stockpiling them?
>>566846202 The only thing I've seen of this game is these colgate hair catgirls and I don't really get the hype, they're average at best, ugly as sin at worst as far as anime characters go.
