It's terrible. Constant layoffs from studios, frozen hiring, low pay, seniors have a trouble finding a job just as much as entry level jobs. But entry level is non existent anymore, the only listings are for industry vets. There is no game industry in Europe. Most of the vets who started off in 1998 rushed into Valve and been sitting there for the past decade. The last thing we need is more indians who learned how to use blender. So Pajeet, you have to go pick up a wrench and learn a trade in India.

Well you did the right thing then, your life would be down in the shitter already if you chose a career in this industry. Atleast you're smarter than "i only want to do muh passion and what I love" on this board.

me nor almost any other students can't even find an internship in the domain, don't even want to think about actual career. maybe it's good if you do niche stuff or tech art for specific interactions, if the only thing you can do is pretty assets you're cooked. doesn't help that the industry is so saturated with game equivalent of slop. if you become niche indie dev it might be the best thing to do, and capitalize on merch. 3d alone can't get you far, especially as anon said entry level jobs are dead

>Your good or bad.
>You been going this for 30 year or 2.
>The project got cancelled or made 100 billion dollars in the first day.
you out of a job, see you just project for less pay and more work.
then they start crying no one wants to work.
3D like all art are a shit as a work place.
what you want is to find 1 really rich patron that likes your work, or 10000+ sucker playing 1$ a month.

my friend works as a 3d artist, most of his class in college failed to find any actual internships at real companies. apparently you used to be able to find internships and jobs pretty easily. now it's borderline impossible to find either. i chose a field where actual jobs exist and do 3D as a hobby.

I have been watching chinese 3d anime recently. Why are there no such or similar projects being develoved in the West? Some of those projects are massive with high production values but nothing like that exists here.

the workers in the animation industry are being aggressively exploited, race to the bottom, because "muh passion" and artists are generally super low IQ about business.
the higher ups get rich, the people who do the work get nothing but a tiny pay check then get fired when the project is done.

Depends on where your located.
If your in the USA, markets like
-Manufacturing
-Game Design
-Animation
are a lot less profitable than consumable services
-Neche Porn
-Personalized digital 3D products
-Online Advertising
