It seems like his deal is only recently upon receiving the fragments and that's why he resurrected Band Snatch and can control wocks and snarks. His great motive as ruler of Alicepia is simply because he wants to be king and rule to shape the world as he wishes.
When called out on it, that he's not that kind of person but he throws it back as what do you really know about me?
That when he's been with them his only thoughts were of how he could monopolize all of the myuchikara for himself, not out of a responsibility or virtue to save the other alicepians.
That while they might want some romantic dramatic explanation, reality is often disappointing.

But don't take my word as the gospel, I could have missed things and I don't have much confidence in my own translation/interpretations.

I'm not feeling Meitantei so far as much as Kimi to Idol which I thought had a great energy and was basically perfect in the first cour. I didn't like the song too much on first listen but after about 5 go through it's pretty good.
