This. Fujimoto has never been a master at drawing fights; he didn’t need to drag them out for them to be good. Instead, he built them up and gave them emotional weight while they happened. Denji vs Reze, Denji vs Aki, Denji vs Makima… you cared about all those fights because they had weight, because they had meaning.

With Denji/Pochita vs Yoru, it’s different. It’s a random fight from start to finish. Like, seriously, what was that thing with the Locust Devil? Imagine watching Goku vs Frieza and some random alien just smacks both of them, or Naruto vs Sasuke and some random ninja beats them up. And if that wasn’t enough, the fight has zero emotional impact. The fate of the world is literally at stake, and you couldn’t care less.That might be forgivable if the fight were well-choreographed or if the characters’ powers were used effectively, but no, none of that happened. All the fights in Part 1 I mentioned were better even just in terms of pure action. Hell, even Pochita vs Yoru from the Anging Arc was better.

To top it all off, this fight accomplished absolutely nothing:

>Denji and Yoru went back to the same relationship they had in previous chapters.
>Denji limited himself to choosing between two options: help the War Devil or the Death Devil. In the end, he chose the War Devil, erased the Death Devil, and didn’t make a third choice as we expected, leaving the world in total chaos.
