After years of looking I think I may have found mai waifu

I picked up Dungeon Meshi because I knew it would be one of the more popular anime of its season and I also enjoy a fantasy
Falin Touden and her role in the story really grabbed me right from the start
Her dramatic reintroduction and very dramatic re-reintroduction are the highlights of the anime for me

But that was it. Until recently, when I picked up the manga basically just to see how her story plays out, out of curiosity.
Very rapidly I've found myself sharing her emotions as I read. I'm happy while she's happy, sad while she's sad and I'm filed with this overwhelming fondness like I don't think I've felt before
I'm still a little ways from the end of the book so I don't know her ultimate fate yet, so please spare me

I'm not an artist, and barely dabble in Paint, but it was fun hitting a point where these abstract lines started to resemble features

I think that's kind of the point. Of all the waifu events on /a/, the shrine threads are the most rare, and the most special. People try their best for Christmas and Valentine's Day. It's like going to an event hall with other waifufags. These threads are 6 times a year, and feel kind of like family get-togethers. They're more chill because they're not holidays. Then you have the WWD, which is the equivalent of a local paint bar for waifufags. People have fun, make fools of themselves, and trade with each other.

All that to say, they all have very different vibes, and I appreciate the variety.

Finished it. Decided just to keep the background simple. I am used to Photoshop/Illustrator, so paint was a challenge for me, with no magic wand or magnetic lasso tool for painting selections, I did it all my brush.

He was my only friend at the time and I was drawing to help him with college. Or at least that was the plan. For almost two and a half years afterwards I had no friends, but I met a couple of nice ladies who keep me company on-line, one is just a friend (and like the guy before lives on a different continent to me) and the other wants to go out with me (still haven't yet, but she is really cute, into cosplay and likes my art...).

Wanted to try something a little different this time, and while I feel like the legs especially need a bit of work I'm pretty happy with the overall results. I wanted more sleepy Moose, I think getting to see her relaxed like this with how hard working she normally is would be adorable every time!
I was initially going to try using a makeshift tablet type setup to see if I could get anywhere with that but I was genuinely better with a mouse. Maybe in the future.
