Absolutely standard (unfortunately) for the industry verbatim transfer of dialogues from the source to the screen without much creativity. No special animation tricks. It stands out like a shining peak against the backdrop of most YH adaptations just because, unlike them, it somehow deserved NORMAL treatment, not a shitty one.

There is much more to that, no matter how you put it, Ichijinsha just does not have the same money or influence to gather big producers, which will directly impact in the budget, studio and schedule of the anime, something like Watanare is trivial to Shueshia and even so it's just a work with a regular budget and marketing, they didn't expect it to be nowhere near as popular as it was, even after the anime aired they still clearly were underestimating it as we have seen in how the movie was only was originally meant to play for a week in a small number of theaters and it was extended to a month in much more as the movie kept getting the theaters full.
