Caldwell and Elmore did a lot of unofficial nekkid art, even of official characters. I don't know the exact reasons - boredom/fun, practice, filling out their portfolios - but I'm pretty sure they have official websites with galleries full of all kinds of stuff, a lot of which TSR would never had been able to print in D&D products because dragons burning down villages and heroes chopping the heads off goblins is fine, but if anybody suffers a Wardrobe Malfunction then the busybodies gets all THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

That's Phil Foglio. He did the "What's New with Phil and Dixie" strips for the "Dragon" magazine and art for the earliest Magic the Gathering cards. He also worked on a comic series called Myth Adventures which is based on a book series by Robert Asprin. And then there is his still ungoing webcomic Girl Genius, but I can't think of a normal fantasy story, they are mostly comedic and have no nsfw, if you mean that.

"Queen of Spiders", by Keith Parkinson, cover of the 'Super Module' for Dungeons and Dragons back in '86

I'm no expert, but as far as I know this is the only time drow elves were ever depicted with brown skin.

I'm guessing they didn't want to associate the comically evil drow with a real world ethnicity, which is why it wasn't done again, instead opting for the 'dark purple' look you usually see, although canonically they have jet black skin (like in that one episode of 'Community' ^_^)

I've got the ones you pointed out in a art book he put out.

As I mentioned above, the one that got me was the "Lord Soth" image with nudity, because I knew there was No Way Wizards of the Cost would have him draw 'Official' nudes featuring a character they owned ^_^

Anyway, a 'quick' render by me, of a nameless Duergar Dwarf.

I know some people feel about Daz Studio images the way I feel about AI Images, but at least I have to put some effort into 'composing' an image, and I am stupid enough to PAY for everything I use (technically there is over $100 worth of 'items' in this image alone [female shape, skin tone, clothing, 'castle' props, even the lights]).
