RenPy is still the de facto standard. Unless you have a particular reason to go with something else (e.g. your game is heavy on the gameplay, or you're already skilled or want to learn some other engine) all you're likely to achieve by not using it is amassing comments to the tune of "nice renders and story, but I wish it used RenPy."

I think the days of striking it big like Milfy City, Summertime Saga or Being a DIK are mostly over, and like with all other creative endeavors you had to have luck on your side as well. Unless you're in a third-world country where living is really cheap, I honestly don't think you can count on your work being worthwhile from a purely financial standpoint, you'd probably make more money per hour flipping burgers.

Never had that thankfully, but I'm always disappointed when the futas turn out to be actual futas by the legal definition. I fucking love girls with dicks, but conversely I'm put off by any intersex business down there and usually find it unfappable.

Recently found a game called Futa Oasis which had a rather different art style, cool setting, and card-based mini-game that wasn't half bad. Unfortunately all but one of the girls were "true" futas.
