the whitest foxes are also the stinkiest i bet
>>
>>5101008
Curious hypothesis. Both Red Fox and Arctic Fox are confurmed to stink. Fur different reasons afaik. I'm not qualified to rank one above the other tho.
>>
>>5101040
>Fur different reasons afaik
I would love to hear those differences. Can't imagine theres much in a tundra (aside from fish) to get you to stink, but a fox finds a way, im sure.
>>
>>
>>5101008
>>5101040
as someone who has been to a zoo that has both red and Arctic foxes, the Arctic exhibit smelled way worse, but I can't say if it's because Arctics smell worse or because their enclosure was smaller and closer to the path than the reds
>>
>>5101001
I'm trying to achieve it, not having much success though. Not sure where I'm going wrong.

Red Foxes have several scent glands on their bodies which contribute to their stink. Arctic Foxes however, I've heard, do scent mark via pee and poo butt it's actually the Fox den and remains of eaten rodents and various (decaying) food caches that makes the Arctic Fox stink. It's so strong you can actually tell a nearby Arctic Fox den if you just happen to walk by. Red Foxes cache food too tho butt I guess it's not concentrated to the den itself.

Purrsonally I'd expect the Arctic Fox to be the less stinkier one considering they're prey to many larger predators. Logically, you wouldkn't want to announce your presence like that. Also, Arctic Fox litter size has a studied correlation w/ the availability of food (usually scarce, leading to a small litter) so they're getting double-shafted in terms of survival.

they close at 4 and it was 3-something, by the time I was back at the station I caught the 4pm train back to tokyo. Also the taxi wait time situation was absolutely insane (both on the way there and back, had to wait 90m at the station to even catch a taxi there, and on the way back I ended up sharing a ride with some other guy)

well hey it's japan, when you feel something or someone bump into you you sumimasen

The Fox cuddles nook or the whole park?

It's weird, appurrently it's so hard to get there yet it's spawsed to be some sort of a tourist hotspot. Not that you can just plop a zoo in the centre of a busy city anywhere in the world butt they'd benefit from having some sort of a designated transit shuttle to and from the place.
>>
>>5101865
Yeah the best strat is taking the first train out of Ueno up to shiroishizao and then trying to get a cab so you arrive at 9am for opening.
With cuddling the fox at 11 you want to go line up at like 10:30, so it gives you 1.5 hours of time in the pen then stand around for 30m reviewing photos, then hold fox, then like immediately run to the desk and get them to call a cab for you to try and make the 12:00 train. Alternatively there is a bus back to the station at like 12 something you also have to line up for 30min in advance.

>>5101924
There is a shuttle bus that runs twice a day most days.
Alternative option: rent a car.
>>
>>5101755

yeah i caught some 8something train out of ueno, got to shiroshizao at 10something; wasn't at foxvillage until... noon. I asked the guy at the tourist infodesk at the station if he could call me a taxi, he said to just wait in line (only two small groups 2-3person of chinese tourists in front of me) cabs only came by like every 30 minutes, wasn't at the village till noon-ish; while standing around for nearly 90 minutes outside shiroshizao I tried uber a couple times (so did the others waiting) to no avail. I didn't get an esim with japanese phone# so no dice on calling a cab directly.

It is nice that the gift shop will call taxis, similar case of two groups in front of me, but throughput was much faster, and also standing in the gift shop was nicer than standing outside at the taxi line/shelter at the station. Also cool that after I had my taxi ticket from the gift shop, another solo rider was asking for one to shiroshizao as well and the nice lady came and asked me if I was down to share, and I was, splitting the fare was a welcome discount. Was actually in sapporo for the snow festival last week, had been debating renting a car, but was like nah given the snow accumulation and not wanting to slide off road and they only find my body weeks later when the snowbank thaws so didn't bother to get the international driving thing

next time I'm just renting a car, as I'm also planning on roadtripping around hokkaido to see the fox village there and will need the international driving permit whatever anyways

>[step-by-step guide fur your visit]
Idk this reads more like a plan to quickly swipe a kit under your jacket when no one's watching and then abscond w/ your new pet Fox.

>[...] rent a car.
Sounds like the best option, you might actually find time to enjoy your visit.

The foxs at the zoo are free, you can take them home, I have 458 foxs.

If you're going in the middle of winter, 3 hours there is kind of a lot. It's freezing cold and there usually snow. If you are a female you may struggle with it.
I'm gravitate towards winter though because fox are nocturnal and well if you want to see them run around and be retarded then you have to get there early in the morning before they all go to sleep
>>
Foxfags i just saw this on another board
Tell me of its veracity

>When a male fox loses its mate, it will never mate again.

Are female foxes really heartless whores like human females?
