I will post this again because I think many people need to hear it
War is over. Both sides are playing tough, Trump is obsessed with optics and just wanna make the goyim believe he won. They will compromise and tomorrow, the ships will start crossing without a problem.
I know it's hard for the bears to accept it but you gotta trade the market that is in front of you. Leave your emotions aside. Iran won and Trump just wants to end this stupid conflict. It's over.

they are generally right though, aside from london. there are a lot more cities in the uk and they're all dumps. and the rich people really do live in country estates outside the cities. their mistake is the scale of things, we have the same phenomenon in sf and new york, rich people in the cities, even richer outside, but the rest of the country is more how they characterize. you guys really should just ask gemini like i did, it clarified things, highlighted exceptions, and gave really thorough reasons. it would save you an argument too.

Uhh this proves my point... You can see the cities by the orange and yellow patterns they make. London is an exception but not by much. Most of it is the same as the Home Counties. That big black area in SW London also proves my point since it's mostly Surrey and Middlesex postcodes.

In my city (Lisbon) rich people people live in the city center and the poor working class live in surrounding satellite cities like almada and amadora but the real filthy rich people (industry leaders, football players, high profile politicians,...) like in the outskirts of the satellite cities (places like Aroeira, Azeitão and western Sintra)
in the actual rural countryside there are regular farmers and large rich people estates where they larp as farmers and wine experts (places like douro valley, ribatejo and alentejo)
rich people in rural areas really do love the farmer larp, like the southern european version of that clarkson farm show

Yeah it's the same here pretty much. The dead centre of London is full of billionaires, Then you have the ghettos about five miles out where I live and then maybe 15-20 miles out you have footballers. In pretty much all the other cities however it's all ghetto until the city limits. I took a bus from Solihull to central Birmingham once and the surroundings got progressively worse as the bust got closer until there weren't even buildings anymore but piles of rubble in Digbeth lol. Just before that was Sparkbrook, fucking hell, streets covered in trash, crackheads got on the bus, everyone in a burkha. Ain't no footballers living there.

Companies have a legal obligation to maximize shareholder value. Stocks going to zero means a company and all its assets would be free.
Short-to-mid term the bullish thesis for the major indices is political manipulation going into midterms, there's strong incentive to keep prices propped up. But I'm also a bear rn.

I bought a few hundred shares for about 36 and with the AI bubble hype been selling off and this was the last 100 shares. I sold calls on PLTR and bought to close for a nice profit, I want to get my money out to start wheeling again because of the Trump VIX

I bought BP calls for strike 45, 46, 47 expecting crude to hit $150 and stay there but BP's price faltered so I sold them. War is not over and they are not done destroying each other's energy oil/gas production so I expect oil prices to surge again. I don't think the lesbian BP CEO can hang with E, TTE, CVX, XOM, SHEL, or EC so I am looking for december calls for those instead.

I lost faith that they will post profits in two weeks because they didn't in 4Q 2025. In fact they did worse than 3Q. I don't think oil has been high for long enough to make a difference to this. I heard the business was turning around with the lesbian CEO at the helm but Ive seen no sign of this. In fact they are still bickering over climate policy at the AGM. I stand by what I say however that if they did make a profit they'd be one of the cheapest oil stocks.

Central banks, following the Fed, now backstop equity with purchases of debt. This has the effect of making equity now correlate (instead of anti-correlate) with bonds.
Bust cycles clear out unproductive firms leading to more efficient markets for the next Boom.

Paul Singer bought a lot of stock and demanded an got the former CEO and Chairman ousted and demanded BP go back to polluting the environment and maximize shareholder value. They announced the lesbian to be CEO but then also stopped share buybacks and had some other issues with a refinery strike but I think they agreed to sell it. I figured with much higher oil prices BP could get its shit together with the extra money, but maybe CEO is too busy eating clams to make the necessary changes including firing all the people who wanted green energy.

>Didn't know rare lego was a thing
I just found out about it myself. I guess Lego the company bought out a 3rd party marketplace akin to eBay but specifically for lego reselling. And some of the pieces, like the tan circle, only come from the blue spiny shell set. So for me to get 5 of those pieces, 5 blue spiny shell sets needed to be parted out and sold individually which is why the cost of that piece is so much. Kinda cool you can track the price of the item over time and see where your sale falls in to the fray. It's cool seeing an actual market play out that results in PHYSICAL DELIVERY of MATERIAL GOODS that were acquired through GENIUS & LABOR

I'm phrasing it as a question for a reason, I haven't looked into it all but mergers do happen exactly like this. If it's a long ways out, and only speculative currently, it'd absolutely make sense it isn't trading at $35.
I think it's a good trade because ZIM is gonna pop once the strait opens up, due to pent up demand and the way their company works where they essentially auction off their services to the highest bidder.
If you think markets are perfectly efficient, you haven't been paying attention.

So to be clear, it's kind of a double whammy trade right now, since it's probably gonna pop when the strait opens up, and has existing speculative pressure to drag it to $35 if the merger looks increasingly likely. If you weren't so retarded you'd understand trades like this can be worth investigating further.

I blacklisted ZIM after getting burned awhile ago so it wasn't really on my radar until I needed to cope with the strait possibly opening soon. Fortunately it looks like that's not happening.
>shipping rates are elevated because of the conflict, they'll come down after the strait reopens. and when you see arbitrage opportunities with fat spreads, it usually means there's more opportunity elsewhere with more risk and that markets are very depressed, or that the arbitrage risk is high.
I'm aware, but ZIM is an Israeli company and earnings will look good the quarter they handle they handle the backpressured demand. So combined with the merge it's not a bad trade, imo, but everything I know about this trade is contained in the post I was replying too currently, which is why I asked the question.

Is SPY $640 realistic for next week? I have some 4/17 put spreads that hit max payout at $638, bought them before we gigga mooned last week and didn't bother selling. I might sell at open on Monday before Trump can tug it back up. WWYD?

>It's all Vance's fault
There was never going to be a deal, it was just a farce so US and Israel could prepare for another sneak attack. Bibi will not let Trump stop, Bibi has too much dirt on Trump. Even Milania is panicking now.

Strange developments. Looks like a temporary setback with strait getting cleared of mines, but we shall see. I don't even think the declared two weeks are over.
Hopefully we'll get at least a couple of amusing Truth social media posts before this is concluded.

Bearanon, please be careful! Be patient, Mr bobo is almost here, and once he gets here he’s going to stay for a very long time!
Mr Bobo isn’t coming because the straight is closed! You know they will pump it away, as they did in April and in October and last week! He’s coming because

I'll be honest I was kinda worried that there would be a deal that would retard the oil pump until a few months later. I'm glad I bet on the US being retards lmao
I might become a millionaire if all goes well. Enjoy the ride anons, and thanks for holding USO calls

my bull cope: this is a misdirection. a deal has been made, but it was unsavory enough that a sweetener had to be thrown in for the chosen people. they have gotten their headlines, and are now running the scam, but before the opening bell rings on monday iran will have a change of heart before another bomb drops.

Perhaps you are to young to remember little zoomymooo, but int he late 80s there was an empire called the soviet union.
They hand guns and bombs and ships and tanks and even really really really big bombs!
They had millions and millions of soldiers too!
And then on day poof! All gone! Simply fell apart.
Why Mr. Mumu?
Belief!
Because of belief Mr. Mumu!
Belief is the only thing that matters. It is what makes TSLA worth 4000x Earnings and Ford at 8x.
Without belief, the strongest most tightly controlled systems in the world can fall apart over night! A lack of faith in markets is both the necessary and sufficient condition for a depression.
Soon you will believe in Mr. Bobo too anon, because he believes in you :)

I want you to remember what I've said Mr. Mumu, as I want you all ITT to remember.
Because when you stop believe in the market, you'll finally be able to see Mr. Bobo!
When that happens in the coming weeks, I want you all to say:
>I CAN SEE HIM! I CAN FINALLY SEE MR. BOBO!
That's Mr. Bobos game! If you see him before everyone else, you win!

Well no agreement was reached, and oil price on hyperliquid is ripping right now. Don't know what's happen on monday but all these big pumps were thanks to hopes on this negotiation producing at least something. Probably will still see a 9am truth social post to try and lessen the blow but I don't know.

Corporate balance sheets not only go to zero, they can go negative. IP can expire (patents in 20 years) or become worthless (there used to be a popular diet chewing gum called Ayds). Even hard assets like machinery can become obsolete or break down and have only scrap value. Suppose the corporation's only asset is a piece of software that ends up not working. What are the corporate assets then? So the value of an equity CAN go to zero.
