how did you cut a hole for your head in the bottom of the monitor if you are willing to share?
I have heard some people use a rubber ring to keep the plastic edge away from your skin, and others just sand the shit out of it

I removed the electronics, Used a soldering iron to cut thru the plastic because I didn't have the right saw, used pipe insulation to cover the rough edges. Got myself Plexi Glas and 3-5% tinting foil. And done!

CRTs are good for retro gaming and occasionally retro television, as games and shows from that era were made with CRTs mechanics in mind (and sometimes used the line effect to compensate for limited graphic quality, which made 3D games and SFX look better than they actually were) and often look worse quality on modern screens as a result.
but objectively? no, it's not better for anything else. it's just better at running things that were made to be run on CRTs. everything else is nostalgia.

Hiii, OP here. Well I bought 3-5% tinting foils for cars. Please make sure they make it clear that it's 3-5%, don't buy any of that UV crap or whatever. Regular Car Tinting Foil, you'll find it online or at a store somewhere close to you.

I've been going to cons for a decade now and I have never figured out what these TV heads are supposed to be. I just kinda assumed it was a tradition at anime cons, like how there used to be a tradition before covid of going to cons as Deadpool and being a jackass.

What the actual fuck is the one on the left? Orange fuzz glued onto whatever the fuck that brown thing is supposed to be, awful "art" painted on the sides, those fucking glue gun drippings? Literally looks like a kindergartener's first diorama. True friends wouldn't let you go out looking like that
