Just visited this place then other day. So much cool shit, there were so many fruits/vegetables/meats I've never seen before it was kind of overwhelming. Any recommendations on cool stuff to buy/meals to make? I had a crispy fried mackerel and a hunnyz apple and it was really good.

marinate a yellowtail collar in yuzu, miso, light soy sauce, mirin and sake overnight then pop it under the broiler until golden brown and delicious

I go down to the one here in Rosemead, I think it is. I haven't really experimented with the meat yet but the fish balls they carry are the best, usually Do Do brand in blue (fish) or orange (fish and shrimp) are good. They have like fresh (frozen?) ones there in bulk in like a bin usually by the fish counter but I got really sick one time from those and I don't touch them anymore. Alternatively, Jane Jane is another good brand for frozen bag ones. For noodles, look for Lucky KT Steamed Chow Mein, usually in the cold refrigerated noodle section. Also by KT, there's a white noodle. Look like this, should have the air sucked out of it and really compressed, you want the fresh (refrigerated) one not dry. I always grab some baby bok choy, but its not always there.

they often come in their own packages, I suppose you could ask the fish monger to do it for you but idk how that would fly at a larger chain like ranch 99. they usually go for around $10 but I also live in one of the most expensive food cities in America, still worth it imho. they're even better grilled.

ive had the china men and mexicans break my balls at the fish counter but the cashiers and other workers are overly polite. a lot of them know very little english though, most know both cantonese and mandarin and some know spanish too. only thing i hate about shopping there is when it gets crowded its like fucking asian costco and its a mad house

I tried picking up Asian girls at markets then I stopped after I realized I'm asian faceblind and can't discern between a youthful 35 and a 16 year old. I need to switch to a dating site but I don't know which ones they congregate in.

My Ranch Market has claw machines that are varying degrees of rigged. I got these cute Godzilla and Mothra plushes from one of the less rigged ones.
As for food, I usually just get the ramen that goes on sale and various snacks, but I did get some Century Eggs on sale there once and I quite liked those. Give them a try if you haven't already.

You've gotta get the double spicy one then mix egg yolk in to dim the spice

Make curry. I don't know the exact recipe but if you add apple, coconut milk, dark chocolate, and tomatoes to it then it's really good. Mix in carrots and potatoes and put it over an omelette
