Tried to make Greek Tsoureki yesterday for the first time, almost had a break down cause I couldn't figure out how to braid it. I think I over proofed it a bit because it was puffier before I put it in the oven.
Still the taste/texture was great.

Yes it is sweet. I saw a bunch of recipes, some people put a lot of sugar, I put just a 100gr for 500gr of flour and it's just how I like it.
I'm making another one tonight cause this was the test one since I've never made it before, might put a little bit more sugar because the family is used to it being sweeter traditionally.

Perhaps I'm retarded (seriously considered it).
It was late at night after a long day and was in a hurry.

I like slav food a lot. I made vareniki a few days ago
>>
>>21972911
Depends which type of slav, in Central and Eastern it's more Russian and German influenced, in the SouthEast it's more Middle Eastern and Meditteranean because of the Ottomans and the sea although our main meat is pork which the Turks don't eat.
But yeah it's pretty good.

It's good, you put in one gram because it's strong. It's not Mastika don't worry.
>>21973096
It wasn't meant to be, I should have bloomed the yeast but I was in a hurry.

Change of plans, making Koulourakia, not throwing this, I bought premium ingredients.
>>
I've had Koulich and Pannetone and I don't like either. They're not tasty enough to just eat on their own, and they don't go well with butter or anything else you'd put on bread. I also hate pieces of fruit in my bread
But! Tomorrow I'm going to a greek place so I'll try some (restaurant-made) Tsoureki. I'll see if it's any better

Yeah I feel the same way about fruit in panetone that's why I buy the chocolate one.

Mm very nice, well if it's freshly made it will be good but if it's baked from the night before the texture changes a bit.

The amount of Americans who claim ESL at perfectly fine sentences is really upsetting.

Lets focus on the god damn cooking, how about that?
You order food, you should be shamed and slapped on the spot.
