Some even specify "grass fed and finished" to try to make it clear when a cow's been fed grass and only grass.

All beef is grass fed, or so I thought but it's the default here. It surprises me that Americans don't have it as the default as they have plenty of farmland (but I suppose the "ranching" areas have lower quality grass or it's not viable for large production)

Grass fed only is disgusting most of the time because you never really know what the cow was grazing on, unless it’s a small and local ranch.
Finishing really helps the flavor.
I remember when HEB in Texas was getting grass fed from Australia. What a fucking disaster. Oily, smelly, chemical smell meat after cooking. Enough complaints and they stopped. Now, Swift brand is getting the exact same meat in.
