>forced to take antibiotics after getting my appendix removed
>Suddenly lactose intolerant
>can't even stomach lactose free milk or cheese
>have to spend 4x as much buying milk "alternatives"
>yogurt is a crapshoot, I can stomach home-made but nothing store-bought
>fucking everything on this planet has milk, cheese, cream, dairy in it
I lost more than my appendix that day
life is pain, it's fucking miserable, I can't even enjoy a sandwich without checking the label like a fuck geriatric
Any other recently-lactose-intolerant bros know this feel?

Are you sure it's lactose intolerance if lactose-free cheese is a problem? Antibiotics are known to mess up your gut bacteria. Homemade yogurt has more active beneficial bacteria which could be why you tolerate it?

I get really bad eczema that lasts a few weeks, stomach cramps, dandruff (big ass flakes)
it's horrible, clear healthy skin otherwise

idk if it's lactose but it seems to be most dairy. I've tried Kefir but it's more inconclusive, needs more testing.
Definitely seems like "live" foods are easier on me than the dead stuff

Keffir, yogurt (no corn syrup bullshit). And Lactaid. Most the storebought milk's sugarwater trash.
The Appendix is a beneficial bacteria reservoir/last redoubt to recolonize the gut after gastric distress, illness, whatever. Start having fermented foods more regularly and the greens to keep them happy. The milk replacements are all garbage and expensive, don't bother.

Raw greens in particular. It's less than fermented foods but raw fruits and vegetables have been shown to still contain a decent amount of beneficial bacteria.

Appendix may be a hidey-hole for your gut bacteria. Removing it + antibiotics probably destroyed your gut biome.
Dairy, different-veggies fiber, different-beans fiber, and others are food sources for gut microbes. So if you haven't eaten one in a while or killed all the microbes in your gut, introduce the foods slowly. Eat yogurt slowly to introduce the lactobacillus, then gradually ramp up
