I'm going to a fancy restaurant (Eleven Madison Park) for the first time next week. I'm basically a subhuman chud who has no idea how to act in this situation. I don't know what to wear. What to order for a drink. I don't know what a tasting menu is. Is this like a real meal? Or should I plan on eating McDonald's later in the night to fill me up.

Remember to NEVER look the waiter on the eyes. Almost got me kicked out before.

No need to worry. The service will be just as good as the food. Wear some nice clothes.

Don't wear a white shirt and black pants, you'll look like a waiter. Just go and enjoy yourself, those kind of places are that expensive because they cater to you.

Where something like pic rel. the main elements you need to make sure you wear are
> slacks
> stiff collared shirt, no limp dick collars
> tuck your shirt in
> neutral colors and dark primaries
Happy to answer other questions related to that. No one will be scrutinizing you, those key elements will basically ensure you blend in so you really don’t have to worry about it.
> macdongs later
Can’t say how your appetite is, who knows if you’ll need to go out later and i don’t think you should worry about that.
> i don’t know what to order
Order what sounds good, my dude.
Even if someone makes a joke about what you order, laugh along and just say it sounded good so you went for it.
Most people will be there to enjoy themselves and the food available, not nitpick you.

I’m jealous, wish i could see the tasting menu but i can’t find it online.
Hope you have fun, and if you can get pictures, post them afterward lmao

They don't have a dress code, you could literally go in shorts and a t-shirt and you will receive the same exact service. Many men will be wearing a suit jacket. Most will be in business casual at least. Some will be in jeans. Really doesn't matter and it's up to you. If you're comfortable wearing a t-shirt in a restaurant that will mostly be dressed up, go for it. I'd probably at least wear pants and a collared shirt though.
