case in point, he's brainwashing zoomers into eating only cheese pies and now not even that, he's switched to barebones tomato pies. Restaurants are gonna stop offering more elaborate pies cause of this schlemiel!

Domingoes and pizza huts and all those other shithouses convinced two entire generations that the world's shittiest dough and crust can be made up for with excess sauce and toppings.
No, the number one most important part of a pizza is the dough. If the dough is good, you need nothing more than a tiny bit of good quality tomato sauce and it's the best thing you've ever eaten.

Why does Dave who is a jew from Massachusetts with literally ZERO italian blood or cultural language upbringing or living in the region with the accent act like an italian guy from Brooklyn? He changed his ENTIRE voice to be at all times like this and it literally makes ZERO sense.

Some char on a pie tastes better. Fresh made to order dough tends to have less consistent color than partial baked and other methods of extending the proof life.
I don't have strong opinions about Mike and am not sure why I should gaf.

My 5 year old fucking loves any pizza no matter how shitty it is and will get so excited about it.
If you think that is something that should be admonished instead of admired, I think you're a fool and probably a butthole, too.

Anyone who thinks there's some magic to a 20$ pie is a cooklet in general that can't comprehend the most basic tasks in cooking
>>21981364
Maybe the crust, but the sauce and toppings should be straight forward if you have any skill in the kitchen

When I stopped working in shops and started on some breads, I completely lost my pizza dough skills.
There are a few key details that you have to pin down in the proofing process. Topping is piss easy and cook it as hot and fast as possible.
If your dough is shit, you may as well just fry bread and top that.

I've been eating tomato only pies for 15 years. Basically ever since I became an adult and started a garden. a tomato pizza with tomatoes from the garden is the best food on earth.
if you use shitty tomatoes then yeah a tomato only pizza is going to be mundane

tbf, anything using food you grow yourself tastes fantastic in comparison to grocery store swill

I haven't watched Dave Portnoy in a bit but his dislike for Neapolitan pies and calzones is kind of sad honestly. This guy goes to all the best pizzerias in NA and only gets standard cheese pies with "extra crisp" and a "solid undercarriage" Guy is kind of a kook.

Tell me about it man, I dice up grocery store tomatoes these days and despair. The nutritional value is nowhere near where it should be as well; thank goodness for seed preservation.

>t. can't distinguish a New York accent from a New England accent.
Fuck off, you stupid illegal. Your opinion is useless if you think a generic New England accent like Dave's sounds anything like a NYC accent.

Mimicry is the act of closely copying, imitating, or resembling another person, animal, or object's sounds, behaviors, or appearance. It is used for humor/impersonation in humans, and as a survival mechanism in nature, where organisms (the mimic) copy others (the model) to gain advantages like protection from predators.

No, you retarded polfugee. Dave has an incredibly generic New England accent because he grew up in a town outside of Boston. His accent wouldn't sound out of place anywhere in New England. He sounds like he could be from Maine or Vermont or New Hampshire or Rhode Island. I know you can't hear it but he actually has a slightly upper class New England accent. White trash New Englanders sound much coarser and closer to a stereotypical Boston accent.

No. It's the cheese. There's a clumpy cheap cheese that NY pizza places are switching to pretending that they're "buying local" but in reality it's chewy garbage. The last good pizza places keep paying extra for the right cheese.

A tomato pizza with good tomatoes isn't as good as a tomato pizza with good tomatoes and other good toppings. No you don't need anything else, but you don't need tomatoes to live either and life is better with them. Life is also better with tomato pizzas with other good toppings on them.

I'm not antisemitic at all but I'm from southern New England and I don't understand for the life of me why so many people I know or associate with worship this guy. He really is a culture vulture at best
