I am seriously considering this. Could it be made into a tolerable shake or baked meal brick?

I'm actually thin right now, never been fat actually. I exercise and eat reasonable portions, but what would be nice is to never have to care about nutrition again and just know I'm good. If I want to eat for fun I'll go to a restaurant. A bit of extra calories is no skin off my bones, I'll work it off. But a nutritionally complete diet at such low prices is pretty tempting.

Anon, there is no need to go full apocalypse mode.

No you're not. And if you are, you're a faggot who gets swayed by flashy presentation and novelty.
No it cannot be made into a tolerable shake or brick.
If you're looking to eat on a budget, check what's cheap in your area, eat peasant foods, plan and meal prep. Don't let anyone dictate this shit for you.

no one's dictating anything to me. the video in question presents it as an example of the horrors of optimization, not a diet to be followed. I am simply a kind of pervert who LIKES doing that kind of thing because it is fun to me. I would not force the slop on others. I am probably going to try it and see if it is at least benign in taste, like a mild gruel. If so then I would consider it a success.

But it would taste like shit though? Chicken and rice and a veggie with a multivitamin or supplements of whatever kind would do the same for cheap and not taste like the inside of my work boots after a hot summer day.

Realistically, you probably are going to have to mix and match depending on the season.
Oats into a porridge are relatively cheap and it's good. You might want to try overnight fridge porridge. And then you can kinda add whatever you want. Fruit is the basic one but with a bit of salt you can definitely turn it into a savoury porridge.
Make a batch and add "toppings"

i saw a fun fact once that said something like "you could eat nothing but potatoes and cheese and survive, because those two foods contain everything a human needs" or something like that
so maybe do that. cheesy potatoes
otherwise, if price is the most important factor for you, just get tons of rice.

In the early days of Keto Chow, they claimed to be open source and hosted tons of recipes for diy nutrition shakes. Some were optimized for lowest cost while hitting your macros and micros. Pretty vile stuff when you got down to about a dollar a day.
Probably the cheapest you can get is masa flour, soybean oil, and a multi-vitamin.
