I hate how MCs become more and more generic (and older) with each new game. SM's Sun was quickly overshadowed by his rivals Gladion and Hau due to how forgettable he was, Victor never became relevant (Leon, Raihan, Allister, the youngster and even Hop stole the spotlight in terms of BL art), SV's Florian was the most generic little boy GF could design and he only became worth remembering thanks to Kieran and his DLC's plot, Legends ZA's protagonist was a bland barbie doll that was immediately forgotten after the initial jokes about how you could "dress him like a femboy" stopped, and WiWa's protagonists straight up look like NPC trainers that you would randomly find while traveling between towns. It's infuriating and I blame self-insert fags for this.

They didn't look like irrelevant background characters either. ZA's protagonist was so boring that not even this board or /vp/ cared about him, and the new guy is even blander than him. There's a difference between making a simple but recognizable design and producing boring slop like GF has been doing for most of the Switch and Switch 2's eras.
