The new head of O*N*E is none other than the Crimson Commando.
>https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Frank_Bohannan_(Earth-616) This is probably one of those reveals where I think that they should have opted to pick someone more well-known for the reveal, or alternatively not tease that the new head of O*N*E is a mutant in the last page of X-Men #20 but instead have that reveal happen here as well.

And now for Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon.
>>
Now that we got our (delayed) milestone issue out of the way, it's time for our other major release this week: our entry in the lead-up to Armageddon!
For those who haven't been following what's currently going on in the Marvel universe, the TL;DR is this: there are two major plotlines currently running that is leading up to the event.
In plotline A, Doctor Doom scammed Strange out of the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth title, took over the world for a while, accidentally killed Valeria Richards and then sacrificed himself to resurrect her. In his last will, he announces worldwide that Latveria and everything in it is up for grabs, launching a war that involves various factions from around the world, including one from the U.S. led by Thunderbolt Ross, to find the weapon that could save - or destroy - the world. That plot is currently being covered in Captain America.
In plotline B, Miles Morales entered Earth-6160 and teamed up with the heroes of this reality during his journey to find his sister (who had accidentally gotten teleported there). At the end of his visit, he offers to take a bunch of origin boxes that had been hidden by Maker's associates back with him to Earth-616. Unfortunately for him, the people at Primewarrior have figured out that Miles has them and are now planning to take them away from him!
But who the hell are Primewarrior, and why are they so interested in them? That, is where this mini comes in...

A little awkward to have this release alongside Wolverine: WoA, but that's Marvel's release schedule for ya. Last time we saw Laura, she was a part of the NYX gang, went on a bunch of random solo missions and she also joined the New Avengers (which we don't cover here, but it's okay: nothing important has happened to her there and it's getting canceled). Meanwhile, Gabby was doing team-up missions with Xarus until a mission in Paris forced them to reach out to Laura and Clea Strange to help them.
But now the Snikt Sisters are back together again, and this time they have to deal with the arrival of the next generation of mutant weapons of destruction!

But before they knew it, their fight was interrupted by Elsa Bloodstone and the Legion of Monsters, who for some reason wanted to remove the X-Men from New Orleans so that they could have it for themselves.
Meanwhile, the Outliers are inside the Haven House where they get invested in a western story where they have been written into the plot...

YO SOMEBODY GET THE DOOR
>Marvel’s most terrifying monster is about to collide with mutantkind.
>AIPT can exclusively reveal the solicit and cover for Infernal Hulk #7, written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson with art and cover by Nic Klein. Hitting stores on May 27, the issue throws the newly crowned “King of Horrors” directly into conflict with the X-Men as Infernal Hulk exerts a mysterious influence over mutants, drawing them into his growing army within the grotesque Living City.
>With Bruce Banner’s conscience torn away and the Hulk’s body commandeered by the Eldest, Johnson and Klein have already reshaped the character into something far darker. As established in issue one, this Hulk is not conflicted or restrained. He is pure, mythic evil unleashed. Now that corruption turns its gaze toward mutantkind.
>The official description teases a chilling escalation: when Infernal Hulk draws mutants under his control, can the X-Men resist the call? Can they save their people from a monstrous new leader? And when Hulk attacks, who will he attempt to kill and who will he seek to recruit?
>>
>>152540681
>Johnson tells AIPT this was one of the chapters he was most eager to write.
>“Our Infernal Hulk vs. X-Men crossover in issue seven is one of the issues I was most excited for,” Johnson said. “The Incredible Hulk has now become the new ‘King of Horrors’ as Infernal Hulk, he’s attracted the notice of the heaviest hitters in the Marvel Universe, and they’re all coming for him. Hulk’s plans for mutants come into focus in this issue, it’s not good, and the X-Men have something to say about it.”
>The writer also confirmed that this is not a one-off encounter, but the beginning of a larger role for Marvel’s mutants in the series.
>“The X-Men are some of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe, and they’ll have a big role in Infernal Hulk going forward,” Johnson said. “The last time I got to write Magik was in Marvel Zombies: Resurrection years ago, and bringing her back to pit her against Hulk is SO FUN. I think this story will get our X-fans super invested in Infernal Hulk as we head into Act III of our Hulk epic.”
>Klein’s art, which has already delivered some of the most nightmarish Hulk imagery in recent memory, looks poised to escalate once again. If issue one showed Hulk smashing helicopters like toys and turning men into pulp with a single clap, issue seven promises a battlefield filled with mutants caught between horror and loyalty.
>With Act III approaching and the Living City swelling under Hulk’s control, Infernal Hulk #7 positions itself as a major turning point for Johnson and Klein’s horror epic. The King of Horrors has called. On May 27, the X-Men answer.

I'm discounting Logan: Black, White & Blood and Ultimate Wolverine because they're not set in 616. And while he also appears in Psylocke: Ninja, I'm not sure that one is set in 616 either. At a glance we can tell that the snikt family put together get featured in more titles than the X-Office's combined non-snikt output.

Any country that even pretends to be a semi-serious nation would have demanded anyone taking up citizenship of Krakoa would have to renounce their other citizenship as means of permanently getting rid of their mutants even if the whole thing eventually crashed and burned. Evidently pitfights and the whorephanage were more important to Krakoa worldbuilding than addressing if they managed to force the world to let them all maintain dual citizenship so that couldn't happen.
>>
>>152540142
You'd be surprised how many X-Men stories, and Cyclops-focused stories in particular revolve around wanting to not obey the law, flex on the authorities and avoid the consequences, and everyone else acting like they desperately need this guy around to keep making things worse.
>>
>>152542907
>a semi-serious nation would have demanded anyone taking up citizenship of Krakoa would have to renounce their other citizenship
Why? In the case of the US of A, such a demand isn't even made of people who are dual citizens of countries the US is at war with.

I'm not sure that's necessarily true. I mean it's predicated on Apocalypse selecting Doug to be his heir. And I don't it's inconceivable that Apocalypse would have tried looking for a replacement even without Krakoa happening. It's what Clan Akkaba had been doing for the better part of a decade in the comics while he was gone.

Might be a longshot but this could be them trying to still redeem X-force Beast, since obviously there's no need to recruit Defenders Beast when you already have him and presumably Hank has learned his lesson to not rely on clones of himself to not mess up. FEAST YOUR EYES ON THIS
>When Infernal Hulk collides with the X-Men, the fight is not about power levels. It is about ancestry. As Johnson expands Hulk’s mythology, he has reframed mutation itself within the cosmology of the Mother of Horrors.
>In a recent conversation on Zoom, Johnson enlightened me on the Infernal Hulk’s confrontation with the X-Men in May 2026.
>Johnson established that the Mother of Horrors shaped anything on Earth that veered from divine intent. That includes mutation.
>“In theory, all earthbound mutants come from the Mother of Horrors in some kind of way,” he explained. “They’re a part of that lineage.”
>That single idea changes the stakes. If the Mother of Horrors influenced mutation, then the Father of Horrors, embodied in Infernal Hulk, holds influence over that same family tree.
>The X-Men are not simply another superhero team standing in Hulk’s way. They are spiritually entangled in the same ancient corruption.
>“We’ve established that the Mother of Horrors is the thing that created anything that was not intended by God, anything that was not intended by the One Above All,” Johnson said. “Anything that’s in some way mutated or profane or evolution took a surprising turn.”
>That framing does not cast mutants as villains. It situates them within a mythic lineage.
>>
>>152554236
>What Makes a Monster?
>Johnson’s series makes clear that monstrosity is not limited to claws and fangs.
>“There are monsters walking around among us that were either born hideous in what they’re capable of, or they’re made that way through abuse or neglect,” he said. “There are other ways in which a person can become a monster.”
>Issue 27 reinforced that idea. A character can belong to the Mother of Horrors’ lineage and still appear fully human.
>Mutation, trauma, corruption, evolution. These form threads in the same tapestry.
>That philosophy reframes the X-Men conflict. The clash is not just Hulk versus mutants. It is a reckoning within a shared origin story.
>Infernal Hulk is no longer Bruce Banner’s monster. He is a manifestation of something ancient, something that views Earth as its domain. And if mutants are part of that lineage, then the coming clash is far more than a fight. It is a reckoning within the family tree of monsters itself.
>Stay tuned to AIPT for more, as we’ll have a written deep dive on Infernal Hulk coming soon, along with Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s full convo on the AIPT Comics podcast.

I assume it's going to end with 3K Beast dying but all of his memories going to Defenders Beast at which point he'll just be treated as Beast and the whole 3K/X-Force version of him will just be treated as an anamoly.
That or they make some twist that Dark Beast replaced Beast (again) at some point in the past so it's been Dark Beast the whole time and Defenders Beast is just the real/replaced Beast who's had his memories fucked with.

Zemo killed Andrea during Nicieza's Thunderbolts run when she discovered he was Citizen V, then used Purple Man to brainwash Andreas into skinning her and using her skin as the handle for his sword. Andreas had Andrea cloned during Ellisbolts but she was killed, then he was killed by Norman. it's very "neoliberal social progressive" in that it does literally nothing to address unequal power and papers it over with "we'll all be equal if we can convince enough people to BELIEVE we're equal." it cannot as an ideological framework acknowledge the material realities of power without self-destructing, because it is built on a contradiction of those realities.

>AFAIK you can get dual US citizenship but you automatically renounce US citizenship by getting another citizenship
Nah. That's not a thing. Acquiring a second citizenship does fuck all to change one's citizenship status in the US. A confirmation of an individual's willingness to renounce a second citizenship might come up for people trying to get a job in government, but that's very different from an automatic revocation of US citizenship, and completely different from a unilateral revocation of citizenship status from an entire group of people.
>>
>>152561940
just looked it up, i got the citizenship thing backwards. it's some countries that force you to renounce your citizenship if you get US citizenship specifically; you don't lose US citizenship if you gain citizenship somewhere else.
so to the earlier discussion, many 'Krakoans' would still be American citizens, even while they were living in Krakoa.

the treehouse wasn't on Krakoa tho.
basically took over a chunk of NYC for it.
there's really no way around >>152563190's point being correct - symbolic and token, small scale efforts are as far as the neoliberal social progressive can go, because they cannot acknowledge the structure of non-cultural power imbalances without unraveling their mythology of meritocracy. it all has to be a memetic "racism disease" with no material causes, because they cannot fix fundamental paradoxes in their precious status quo. thus, their 'solutions' are category errors at best, smokescreens at worst.
Xavier's idea of coexistence is similar. it can't acknowledge the very real power advantage the x-gene confers without unraveling the whole idea that equality can be achieved by making everyone simply not care about the x-gene. hell, it can't even really acknowledge the power telepaths have over OTHER MUTANTS.
(just to head off a common rebuttal, supposed rarity of powerful mutations is irrelevant here: it doesn't matter that most American households don't possess nuclear weapons, because there don't need to be many to pose existential threat. the threat is existential with even just a few "omega" mutants existing, and Scott himself has literally pitted the scale of mutant power against the US nuclear arsenal in dialogue.)
back on track, this is an ideology born from a position of power. it's more indignant at dissatisfaction for existing than seeking to understand or remedy root causes. it cannot solve problems it cannot allow itself to recognize... because it is itself a problem.
Magneto's hardly "right" to respond by abusing them, but throughout most of x-men history he has a more accurate idea of the power dynamics than Charles does.
Charles going fascist "geno-nationalist" in Krakoa even mirrors real world neoliberalism's desperate lurches to the right whenever its contradictions put too much strain on its systems to keep up the keyfabe.
...anyway, rant over.
