I'm having a hard time watching this show. I could barely get past episode 2. The pacing feels really awkward and inconsistent. Often times I feel like I missed something and I'll go back a few seconds only to realize that I did not in fact miss anything, it's just bad pacing and awkward cuts Should I continue watching or do I just drop it?

some parts were nonlinear is all, but yeah its really further you’ll see the production problems reflecting in the pacing.
you should watch episode 3, it’ll tell if you the rest is worth watching.
I’ll say it almost smoothed out in terms of pacing before they remembered they didn’t have 12 episodes to do it (they’ll deny this but I have reason to believe it was like this as not to overtly compete with TADC, with no ill will toward them, and it was influenced by their newfound prominence and gradual changes to them as an indie studio that would obviously be accelerated when watching episode to episode due the months long production span between them)

"Tumultuation" is the process necessary to 'revive' Uzi

Given current Chaos ratio values in the universe, relevant EPD should suggest a LLL of 7.8 trillion years for her unity characteristic.
(purely theoretic)
>>
>>152655601
I've started watching it few months after finale.
From the very start I've decided to avoid binge watching the whole thing, preferring instead to watch 1-2 episodes before taking a week-long break. That way it is easier to get a better grasp of worldbuilding and story progression.

Murder Drones was best experienced as episodes were coming out every few months, allowing for rewatches and understanding what's happening while putting all the small details visually shown to you together. I generally enjoy shows that don't hold your hand, and shows things rather than telling you. Which Murder Drones does a lot.
Your mileage may vary. I think it's really good, not perfect by any means but good.

Best advice I can give you is to just enjoy the spectacle and not get wrapped up in trying to follow the clusterfuck of a plot. If you're already having trouble following what's going on in Ep2 it's only going to get worse, but the action spectacle is pretty great.

Would Tessa see it as a big upgrade to her condition being now trapped forever inside Uzi's head (rather than Cyn's head) and having to watch from Uzi's POV her kissing and cuddling with N and sometimes V (but never with J)?
>>
>>152666392
depends if she's graduated from being trapped in an imaginary VCR to hanging out with Doll and Cyn or if she's still trapped within Cyn, just also trapped within Uzi, in which case it's just another layer of prison keeping her from death on top of the previous layer of prison keeping her from death.

TADC is a characters driven show that baited people into thinking it is a plot driven show.
On the other hands, Liam wanted MD to be a plot driven show but he is so good at creating characters that at some point it can be consider characters driven show

>>
>>152667080
It was created by AJ Dispirito, so it is canon. Didn't you know? Anything of good enough quality made by the origianal writer, director, or composer or the show is canon, regardless if it was released officially or not. >!I prefer to believe "Forever" is just a dying hallucination of bleeding out Tessa, not some afterlife. I'd agree with the interpretation if it wasn't for the lyrics repeatedly pointing out wishing for death but being unable to die and being doomed to rot forever suggesting that tessa is aware that her body's still being forced to live
also Cyn's 'I think you should be grateful' line definitely seems to imply to me that she thinks she's doing Tessa a favor because she's keeping her and her pets together as she said she would
>>

Zooble went on to prepare memorial service on the following 'day', at the end of second episode. Kaufmo had been thrown into the pit in the pilot.

I am torn between wishing a murder drones sequel that is:

1) A direct sequel to the original, giving J a redemption arc and showing more of Doorman family dynamic (now that Nori and N are part of it).

or

2)A non-linear sequel set on a completely different planet from Copper 9, with no characters from the original except Absolute Solver (and even it now has a different host than Cyn and thus can be treated as a separate character from the Cyn!Solver we all know and love to hate). Maybe it could explore how a different primary host changes the Solver's personality, Maybe we could see some living humans side by side with robots this time.
>>
>>152668318
Too slow.
>>
>>152668549
>A direct sequel to the original
The main villain has been defeated unless you want it to return or introduce a new villain as good to it.
>J a redemption arc
Cmon, you know that's not happening in canon.
>showing more of Doorman family dynamic (now that Nori and N are part of it).
They missed an opportunity when they hint about N killing Nori.

>The entirety of point 2:
That's basically my entire fanfiction story although it's a more of a side story than a sequel. And there's no confirmation cyn was the only host.

Tldr: They're too many plot holes and plot points that won't make a sequel works. The best thing is taking the setting in Elliott Manor or the other expriments in cabin fever labs.

>>
>>152666505
It's not disjointed, I don't think you know what that word means. The story makes sense and connects between episodes and it's not even that hard to understand, even factoring in the "hidden" details and "LORE". Why are you overexaggerating confusion so much? It's not a perfect show and has flaws but it does well with the small amount of time its got.
>>
>>152669043
>tf when murder drones is literally my first (animated media) fandom since you I was a middle schooler where I am NOT sexually attracted to any of the characters
>>
>>152668549
A sequel for Murder Drones would only really work, IMO, if it's following the idea that The Absolute Solver is inevitable and Uzi can't really stop it forever even if she's holding it back as its new main host for the time being. Eventually it's going to get what it wants and the universe will end.

Though I wouldn't really want this, I think the story suits being left open ended and I prefer the kind-of happy "we've won for now but The Solver is still here and we can enjoy whatever time we have together" ending.

If there was any continuation, I would want a prequel series following The Absolute Solver's consumption and destruction of Earth, moving onto the other Human Exoplanets, and the beginning of the Cabin Fever project on Copper 9 as Humanity's worlds fall and the Solver begins to end the universe. Perhaps Nori and Yeva would be the main protagonists, following their time in Cabin Fever Labs while being shown things happening elsewhere on Earth and the other exoplanets.

I always thought a nori and yeva-led prequel taking place right after the murder drones arrived would be cool. You could make the two of them seem less like jobbers by not having them die five minutes in but actually survive for a season until N finally gets Nori and V gets Yeva and her husband.
Maybe J gets, like, a line or two? Maybe? Maybe, Liam...?

Screw it, I'll respond unironically. Look at the cartoons Gen X and Gen Y watched as children. They had pretty women, cool stuff and explored some deep concepts. The gayest cartoon they watched was about bears who shoot lasers from their guts if you aren't nice.
Now look at the cartoons Gen Z watched as children. Dipper talking about his feelings (insecurities). Steven talking about his feelings. Finn talking about his feelings (relationship drama and abandonment). Star VS, Regular Show, all those crappy reboots. Ugly samey shit about the same shit, made by dysgenic worshippers of Moloch.
Then along comes Murder Drones. The girls are pretty, the artstyle in different (and nice), there is action and violence, and the story is about fighting against the goddess of destruction and death who is playing with her food.
So if you hate Murder Drones then blame Hirsch, Sugar, Terrace etc for it's existence and success.

You can make the point that that's the appeal of the series; that it doesn't hold your hand and expects you to figure shit out for yourself. That's fine; some people like that, but some people don't. I like the series well enough for what it is, I just don't like anons being disingenuous about it.

They're not, there are some male Solver hosts on the list in Cabin Fever. There's only female full Solver Hosts on-screen because it's in reference to Liam Vickers' preference for monster girls / girls with supernatural powers.

>>152676806
Yes, Disassembly Drones are "puppet" hosts with a "nerfed version of the entoty" according to Nori's notes. The Absolute Solver, when creating the Disassembly Drones through Cyn, purposefully limited the Solver in the Disassembly Drones so they don't have access to full abilities. Only regeneration / matter reconstruction, matter collecting, creating their weapons, etc.

Disassembly Drones are destroyed by pure sunlight just like all Solver Hosts.

Y'll know that drones most likely do not have genitals, are not attracted to genitals, and the gist of their sex is just drone core play? >! I had picked up that headcanon from the Jessa smut fic, judge me !<

How bad was it exactly? I've hear that it was only episode 1 and that everything was too compressed in it.
>>
>>152680721
>and that everything was too compressed in it
That is by far the biggest issue, as it also governs other jarring mishaps, like rewriting gatehouse massacre so that it would take as little space as possible.
>>
>>152680721
If this were written by a newbie comic book writer, it might even be considered not bad, but when you consider that it took a MILLION AND EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS to create six of these comics, you start to feel this absolute sense of disappointment and devastation.

Everything is terrible there, anon, only the drawing is just okay. Just okay!

I doubt it. The bar is already on the floor.

it's not just that it's compressed, but the way it's compressed completely fucks at least two character arcs
Khan now doesn't even hesitate to abandon Uzi when seeing N (who now somehow got into the bunker first which also makes no sense) and V just casually watches as J corrupts N with the virus and doesn't even seem to give half a shit, despite the fact that her entire character is later revealed to be predicated on Cyn promising to leave N alone if V does what she says.

No such thing as good shipping. Especially yuri shipping. Gay men are more repulsive but somehow dyke fans are more obnoxious and destructive to the things they attach themselves in.

Why didn't they just have V leave early instead of making her watch J add the corruptor virus? It's like the comic maker didn't even bother to watch the episode.
>>
Would the Lich and the Solver get along? They seem to share a goal. The only difference of opinions I could see arising is that the Solver does seem to like creating living abominations and giant masses of flesh and tentacles during its path of destruction and the Lich is more of an absolutist who reduces everything to a state of death.
>>
>>152682123
It does follow that episode up to the point of Uzi fleeing the corpse spire. But it seems that the writers got filtered by then and couldn't be arsed to sit throughout the rest of the pilot.
>>
Rank the murder drones girls based on how aggressive of a top they'd be.
>>
>>152682123
because of the way they compressed things, J and V show up while N has Uzi pinned to the wall so she just awkwardly hangs there for the whole conversation, then J says she's a freak and probably tastes bad
it's really weird
>>
>>152681450
>Dyke fans are obnoxious and destructive
>The crybully dramafags on Plus create or tolerate yuri and other offtopic nonsense
This explains the feelings of deliberate enshittification these threads have been giving off for quite a while now.
>>
>>152682182
The Solver would try to get under the skin of anyone that it expects to spend time around.

>>152682123
Gig writers have no contact with the thing they are writing for before or after the contract. They don't care or understand the property and they take no time to familiarize themselves with it. Hence why everything sucks when the original writers/creators aren't involved.
>>
>>152682228
I'm left wondering where Cyn would fall into this. I'd rank her very high but only because she'd be the type where she wouldn't come across as much of a "aggressive top".... at first.
>>
>>152655601
My feelings towards this show are severely autistic and contradictory.
I actually fucking hate listening to the dialogue and it feels a bit much like waifuslop and feels a bit girlbossy. Which I tried to stomach for all 8 episodes and the music video, but in the end... it just didn't do much for me.
But on the other hand, I think most of the fan content is cute, and I think the N x Uzi ship is adorable and sometimes look at imagery/animatics made of that ship and even browse these threads. I don't know what my problem is.

>>152682553

I don't think so personally.

The Lich and The Solver have the same ultimate end goal of the end of everything (well, the Lich wants to end all LIFE specifically - The Solver wants to end absolutely everything while also eating everyone and playing around with its food) they go about it way too differently.

Funnily enough, The Lich is always described as much more machine-like in the way he pursues his goal. He wants nothing else - if there's literally no way for him to kill everything he just shuts down.
The Absolute Solver, on the other hand, has much more personality and sadism attached to the way it goes about doing things. It plays with its food, messes with individuals for torture / entertainment, like a human torturing ants on the ground.

I think this is probably one of the things that would annoy The Lich the most. His entire purpose being treated like a game. And The Solver won't care in the slightest, infact I think the Solver would mock The Lich incessantly for being so "boring".
The Solver is an eldritch entity that wants to have FUN while it kills everything slowly and eats. The Lich just wants everything living to be dead, as fast as possible. But perhaps The Lich could see The Solver as being a way to get what he wants, so he might roll with it.
>>
>>152682566
The dialogue literally isn't girl bossy at all, so that doesn't really make much sense.
I mean, Uzi is purposefully a cringe smelly weeb? The show is very aware of that. There's nothing really girl-bossy as you put it in Murder Drones - unless you think that because Liam Vickers likes monster girls with supernatural powers and all the girls kick the shit out of eachother?

Either way, you're entitled to your feelings. N and Uzi ARE objectively stupidly cute though. And I'm not even a ship fag. I'm here for the eldritch horror autism.
>>
>>152680979
"Just feeling memorized".....
do you mean mesmerized?
>>
>>152682845
Maybe Girlbossy wasn't the right term. I guess I just wish N was a bit more competent or useful for some reason. Sometimes characters being written purposefully dumb or useless annoy me.
Yeah I'm definately not a ship fag either, but this is like, the only time I see myself "digging it."
>>
>>152682963
What I mean by this is characters like inspector gadget. I guess some people find it funny, but for me, his incompetency is frustrating to watch when he needs help from everyone else to do the thing.
>>
>>152682963
I was rooting for Nuzi because I liked N and wanted him to be happy. Also because I have no attachment to Uzi.
>>
>>152682797
It could be a funny dynamic. The drones would certainly be in an odd spot considering that the Lich does not seem to regard purely inorganic entities as being within the purview of his destruction (but are the drones purely inorganic? presumably when they are unmodified... but often times not when in the presence of the solver). I could see the Solver and the Lich coming into direct conflict when he goes around destroying the techno-organic components of the Solver's little drone toys, though maybe it wouldn't really care.
>>
>>152655601
Episode 3 is just as bad. The writing just sucks, only good part is the art style. To like it you either have to be able to stomach the bad writing or else have absolutely no sense of writing quality so you don't mind.
>>
>>152683181
I liked the shot of J's thighs.
>>
>>152682963
>>152683018
It's funny you mention that because N is quite routinely the most competent out of most people in the show, and it's not even a very rare occurance. It's just when he gets serious or really needs to get something done when we see how competent he is.
You're probably looking an N too hard through his innocent goofball golden retriever personality. He isn't really DUMB, just silly and innocent / naive.

He pretty clearly shows how competent he is in Episode 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8.

Episode 2 - Points out the flaws of Uzi's murder plan, also points out that J must have been getting orders from someone / something even if the ship's comms are destroyed. You might not notice this at first but its super important.
Episode 3 - His childish crush on V (from his fucked up memories) starts fading and he calls put V's shitty behaviour. He saves Uzi multiple times.
Episode 4 - Immediately and casually stops the fight between Uzi and V, throws Uzi into the stratosphere and gives her therapy.
Episode 7 - Starts catching on to Tessa being weird, notices that Tessa trying to kill Uzi while knowing about the Crucifix Patch makes no sense. Beheads "Tessa" the moment she doesn't give him a straight answer. He knows that The Solver is fucking with them. Saves Uzi from the Solver's possession instead of taking the bait when the Solver gives him the chance to kill her by making her sperg out.
Episode 8 - Steals J's ship, flies it to Uzi in orbit, warns V about The Solver trying to trick her with a hologram because, again, he knows that the Solver is actively fucking with them. Which ends up saving V at the cost of Cyn ripping out his core.
>>
>>152683181
It really isn't. Episode 3 is a big hook for many people getting into the show. You're just being overly cynical with your dislike over it. Sure, the Pilot is a bit messy which is understandable given MD was such a big and new venture for them at the time. But you can very clearly see how the show starts finding its feet through Episode 2 and 3. Not saying you HAVE to like it or that it's perfect (it obviously isn't) but I do think you overstating thenproblems that are there is a little funny.
Is there stuff in the show you DO happen to enjoy? Genuine question.
>>
>>152683246
Fair point.
ngl it's been a while since I actually watched the series so some details may be fuzzy, but I remember he had his moments in episodes 4 and 7. I especially liked the part when he wouldn't take Tessa's shit when all he wanted was a "Yes" or "No."
Maybe I do need to take another look... Maybe.
>>
>>152683632
Understandable. I suppose it is an easy judgement to make about him without really thinking about it, even though he gets the most shit done throughout the show. It's kind of like a Himbo situation. Except instead of being purely dumb he's extremely overly-trusting and naive to the point where his kindness can be a negative trait.

Funnily enough, in N's official character sheet for the show it even says that he's not stupid. I unfortunately don't have the image on me, maybe someone else does.
>>
>>152683246
N's memory being mostly "clean" from being wiped probably helped with his competence. At least when compared to V's murder BPD and J's nihilism.
>>
