See your mistake is thinking comic Ronnie is an accurate representation of the real one who writes the comics. He's not. Agrias isn't real so there's no guarantee this new love interest is real either.

Whomp Ronnie is like a manifestation of real Ronnie's self-loathing. Him being a manlet doesn't even make sense since the real one is actually considerably taller than the average guy based on the comic convention pics floating around.

For people who self-insert into their own webcomics there's usually like 2 paths they can go down. Either they make their self-insert look better than them or they make them look way worse.

Like the Awkward Zombie girl in real life isn't some 10/10 girl but she also doesn't look like how she draws herself in the comic where she looks like a fucking dude. He already had an asian girlfriend in the comic though so he probably didn't want to do a retread of that. Plus it makes a certain type of sense that the asian gf in the comic was a bit more fantastical and idealized (a model and doctor) and the character based on his real asian gf is a White looksmatch to make her more real life and relatable. Her dialogue actually seems a lot more natural when you imagine an asian girl saying it.

Also kind of masterful because she'll never be able to claim he's making comics about her because the character looks so different and she won't want to tell people that she's a fat chick in the comics.
