Duncan tells Teela her birth "father gave his life in battle so Eternians could live in peace." and says he swore never to tell who her mother was. A flashback later shows him climbing to pick up the infant the Sorceress/Zoar the bird has ineptly laid in a nest. It's such a weird scenario and the dead birth father is never named or brought up again, so he COULD be lying and his baby mama was leading him to their child, but that's headcanon.
