What annoys me about Loona and her fanboys is that Loona's job is the same as Blitzos and everyone else's, to KILL humans. I have a tough read of how they'll treat it in the show, but I do feel like the gender roles given to Stolas and Blitz is viewed differently between the show staff and the fandom. And the way the fandom treats it I don't particularly care for.

In fan works, you'll see in hypothetical Stolitz wedding photos, you got Stolas wearing a wedding dress and being all dolled up, when in the show, I don't think we've seen Stolas do anything particularly feminine. The closest is he wears some makeup when he goes to Ozzie's with Blitz. Which is ironic because Blitz has cross-dressed and worn a dress several times.
To actually answer your question though, I figure they tend to make Stolas the pregnant one simply because he has a bird hole that is somewhat similarish to a woman, so the leap in it making sense biologically isn't quite as steep. It is probably just a matter of viewers having the most shallow character analysis of, "Has higher pitched voice, has a hole, therefore the woman of the relationship" and all that entails.
