So....fascists vs tech-bros

The Cult of Baal

>Tech-Bros
You mean corporate science obsessed mad scientists with no ethical boundaries in their pursuit of knowledge/profit.

I think they're just getting into this now, but I'd love it if AIM had more senior members to rival HYDRA's council. I'm just a fan of having a collection of interesting characters leading groups like these, similar to the high ranking members of COBRA from GI JOE. I'd like to see
>Alessandro Brannex
>Monica Rappacini
>Andrew Forson
>MODOK
>Madame Masque
All collectively work together one day. The last two currently are either pawns or just kicked out
>>
>>152671457
Hickman was doing some shit like that in his New Avengers run and it wasn't very fun.
>>
>>152671457
>similar to the high ranking members of COBRA from GI JOE. I
Sure but none of them outranks cobra commander
>>
>>152671377
so tech-bros?
>>
>>152671577
I think Destro was almost on equal ground with Cobra Commander. But with HYDRA and AIM you can get away with a boardroom power setup, the former due to their values and the latter being strictly corporate
>>152671592
What the hell even is a tech-bro?
>>
>>152671605
Sam Altman
>>
>>152671457
Most villains with science knowledge ends up working with A.I.M. at some point.
>>
>>152671457
What is the point of having the guy Super-Adaptoid posed as? He isn't even Super-Adaptoid.

>>152671457
They did that once in Avengers World
>>
>>152671329
Hydra has a interesting legacy and a lot of cool visuals. A.I.M. seems like the're cannon fodder for a better villian's science based plan. Sorry A.I.M. bros.
>>
>>152671852
Graviton is simultaneously slumming it and being more productive than usual like this.
>>
Why is hydra's symbol an octopus? The hydra was a dragon with many heads. Is it because the allies used an octopus for the nazis in ww2 propaganda?
>>
>>152671993
The skull means death whereas the tentacles infer their reach across the globe/organizations. The namesake is merely their resilience and numbers.

By the way, thoughts on Rivals universe HYDRA logo? It's basically Hive's face
>>
>>152671770
He doesn't look like a Super Adaptoid? It's just a power armor version of the normal AIM standard uniform
>>
>>152671993
god damn. how are you this stupid.

>>152672020
stop spoonfeeding people
>>
>>152672098
>Kill all discussion
Fuck you I'll reply to who I want
>>
>>152671605
>What the hell even is a tech-bro?
Just add bro to anything you don't like to scare people and avoid having to give real critiques.
>>
>>152671329
AIM is fun
>>
>>152671329
I prefer the beehive SCIENCE!tists to the mediocre third reich
>>
>>152673571
The mad scientist guild is just a spin-off.
>>
>>152671329
AIM is a sci-fi crime syndicate. Why doesn't a famous magic crime syndicate exist?
>>
>>152673571
>mediocre third reich
I hate to be "That Guy" but HYDRA is older than the Nazis, and merely used them at the time to further their own goals. I think outside of Red Skull, the top brass doesn't give a fuck about race as they see humanity as it currently is as collectively inferior to their full potential.
>>
>>152674593
Magic is incredibly disorganized. You are going to have a bunch of different cults and groups instead of a centralized power system.
>>
>>152674593
>>152674660
Magic community is highly competitive. Everyone is hoarding secrets and knowledge, and nothing is free.
>>
>>152671549
>and it wasn't very fun.
that's because it was being done by a hack like Hickman
>>
>>152671329
Hydra is genuinely deplorable. They exist to only be fascist assholes and nothing else, with Nazi origins at that. AIM is fucking crazy, but they rejected Hydra and are more earnestly insane evil assholes instead. I mean, this is an organization where every single member is required to be a certifiable genius, and what these geniuses choose to do with their lives is to put on a beekeeping costume so they can shoot lasers at men in spandex that are trying to stop them from selling nuclear bombs to wipe out orphanages specifically. Just orphanages, they're designed to leave the rest of the town still standing.

It really just boils down to Actually Evil vs Completely Fucking Nuts
>>
>>152671852
Scientist Supreme is something that should annoy me, but the aspect of it very obviously being something AIM made up because they're cringy nerds trying to co-opt the gravitas of an existent term from a rival ideology is very on brand.
>>
>>152671457
I liked Ironman Armoured Adventures having Controller/Basil Sandhurst as a member of A.I.M
>>
>>152671329
AIM agents have way more drip
>>
>>152674847
>They exist to only be fascist assholes and nothing else, with Nazi origins at that.
Based.
Based.

What's the problem here?
>>
>>152671358
Technically HYDRA works more like a Masonic lodge than it does a fascist group
>>
>>152673571
HYDRA was well before the Nazis came about, they just got attached to them via Red Skull. They're meant to be the most Illuminati of all Illuminati barring the actual Illuminati in Marvel.
>>
>>152674847
Hydra's existence isn't even fascism since Hydra doesn't pertain to any nation at all, which is literally the bedrock of fascism. They're more like a collection of every boogeyman people said secret societies were. They literally share many creeds secret societies back then envisioned but just cranked up to 11 and with supervillians. It's only their iconography that shares resemblance to fascism, and only one specific example at that.
>>
>>152674593
HYDRA covers the occult already.
>>
>>152674866
>that meme is now 18 years old
>>
>>152674593
Isn't that what Hickman tried to do with G.O.D.S.? With the "Powers-That-Be" and "The-Natural-Order-Of-Things" being opposing factions?
It didn't take, clearly.
>>
>>152672098
>gatekeeping uncommon info
cringe
>>
>>152671329
AIM is funnier and more crazy in evil organization terms and skills.
>>
>>152671605
>Destro
Sort of, I guess it depends on the series. He's usually on the same rung of leadership as Baroness and acts as a lieuntnet to Cobra Commander. Other times, he just says fuck it and goes alone with his Iron Grenadiers and MARS as he sells weapons to everyone.
>>
>>152671329
AIM because theyre rocking the yellow hazmat suit.
>>
>>152672360
t. sensitive techbro
>>
>>152676601
cute pussy
>>
>>152671852
I forgot about that..
>>
>>152679736
I think the editors realized it was too similar to the Hydra Council so they didn't push anyone else to follow up with it

Especially since Sunspot was in the process of buying out AIM and turning it into an Avengers affiliate
>>
>>152671358
Isn't Hydra more like the ""The Templars™"" or whatever masonic conspiracy is currently running the world right now? Iterations of them existed before the Nazis but now theyre most associated with them because most of their leadership were nazis.
>>
>>152680568
Hydra at first was a group of Nazis(under Stucker) that just band with a group of asian pirates.

THAN

They became the Thule society inside Marvel.

THAN

They became the "brotherhood of the Spear" so a sister organization with "the shield" (that is just silly).
>>
>>152674593
There was the Blasphemy Cartel, they were an offshoot of WAND after that organization got disbanded. Weaponized spells and necromancy

They were bothering Clea when she was Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. But I think she ended up killing them all
>>
>>152680632
You're using the wrong homonym.
>>
>>152671362
underrated
>>
>>152681382
They were in the last issue of X-Force, though it showed they became a doomsday cult (kind of already were, admittedly, given their original leader's ultimate goal).
>>
>>152671329
The Church of Humanity, since along with muties, it also wanted to wipe out C*tholics.
