Winx club is pretty heavily designed by and for girls. Everything about that show from the character designs to the dialog to the plots were exactly the stuff girls looked for and boys tended to tune out.

I find it weird people say the show wasn't all that girly when the one with the most screentime was a girl. People also say Powerpuff wasn't girly either, even though Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are pretty much always the focus of each episode. Jenny is always the main focus in Teenage Robot, yet people don't think Teenage Robot is girly.
