Why isn't Stronium Dog as popular as Ol' Stoney Face?

The later volumes after Wulf died are kind of meandering and retcon-filled, just like Rogue Trooper's 2nd and 3rd act.
>>
>>152676241
Because you don’t get to dictate what is and isn’t popular, the market doesn’t care enough
>>
>>152676241
the political slant is too strongly Very British to really be enjoyed by people in the colonies
>>
>>152676241
Wagner killed him off and then did a bunch of retcons so the later arcs get a bit messy

There was a pretty infamous Reagan storyline

Rogue also has a video game. Because it’s an easier sell to people

Wasn't it Wagner that killed Ennis?
He even apologises to a dead Carlos Ezquerra in the forward for the recent Strontium Dogs collections pic page 1

page two

>>152681481
Oh shit.
>>
>>152681468
Are those collections a good place for a newbie to Strontium Dogs? I’ve been wanting to read it and have had those collections in my wish list forever but haven’t pulled the trigger
>>
>>152682239
yeah since it goes from the first 80s story in release order, so it's similar to the case files for Dredd, you also get the original colouring from the 70s
>>
>>152681468
yeah but fuck ennis, Strontium Dogs was awful
>>
>>152682681
Nah. Ennis is based.
>>
>>152682681
outside of judgement day, and that one strip were he kill farage, has he ever written a Strontium Dog story?
>>
>>152676241
A good design can go a long way to carry a character/series. Dredd has a really good design on top of just generally being a solid read.
>>
>>152682805
has Garth Ennis who wrote all those Strontium Dogs strips ever written Strontium Dog? is that your question?

do you even know who Feral is and why people actively wanted Johnny to come back from the dead for so long? do you have any idea how awful Feral is

first off he's a main protagonist whose entire name is "Feral"

Feral is so awful that Ennis said he hates him and the entire run

Peter Hogan took over to finish up but even he refused to be credited for the final Feral strip, where the villains I believe were just a bunch of cloned guys with beards who flew around in a spaceship being assholes, and was instead credited as Alan Smithee

"has Ennis ever written Strontium Dogs?" yeah he wrote it into the fucking ground and pissed in the hole

It doesn't look as entertaining as Dredd.
Your greentext could very well all be bullshit.

Damn.

Yeah but it seems like it got quietly memoryholed. Duncan Jones just can't catch a break.

I'm pretty sure Ennis survived the attack
