Guys I know you are loving it but I’m just not feeling this season. The pacing alternates between molasses and supersonic speeds and the writing is very strange and contrived even for Primal standards. On top of that Genndy looks like he’s doing his usual rush everything out at the last minute bit. It’s not hard to imagine that pig suckling scenes added up will have more screentime than the reconciliation of the two main characters.

I’ve been heavily criticizing season 3 but I do feel like the point of tension this season is about the family’s relationship with one another. It’s not about life and death (I guess it is in a weird way) but it’s about the characters connection.
Whether it was a good decision to wipe the slate clean and have the characters re learn everything is yet to be seen and down to personal opinion. But it does have stakes.

I'm just glad that he was finally able to figure out what Mira was trying to tell him earlier about the baby. It's nice to see his happy goofy smile. The series has consistently showed that Spear loves children and he gets protective about them. He might have fuzzy memories because he's a zombie and missing a chunk of his brain, but his love of children continues to be a major aspect of him.

Anon, physical injury has always been inconsistent for every single character in this show from the very beginning.
Red Rexes in episode 1, one of them gets taken out by being grabbed and thrown, another gets its leg turned completely backwards and just casually re-sets it and can run again moments later
Kaiju rex's jaws snap shut on fang's babies? Instant death. Its jaws snap shut on Spear? Completely unharmed. And don't say the fucking spear kept him from being crushed, the damned thing closed its jaws completely, there's no more crush that could have been done, and his spear would have snapped like a twig because even Fang broke that stick one episode later.
Spear has had so many head-injuries on rocks that knock him out for only, at most, an hour or two. River of Snakes, Blood Moon, Rage of the Ape Men, meanwhile, rocks to the head caused the same damage to viking chief, but then he bled out anyway.
In Scent of Prey, Fang took days to recover from being beaten within an inch of her life but then goes from "I can barely stand and my leg is still fucked" to "I am a rampaging dinosaur who is killing my enemies by stomping on them" within minutes in the exact same episode. Mira, meanwhile, is unconscious for days with a leg injury and being thrown into a wall once.
Injury only ever means as much as the scene demands of it in this show and its been that way since the first episode.

So I'm trying to figure out where this is going, and I've got two theories so far:
1) Zpear unwittingly unites all the savage hordes of the continent under his rule by defeating all their leaders in single combat, resulting in him having to take on a sort of Lich King type exile rule, where he can't be with his family as his subjects are too unruly to be exposed to Mira's tribe, but if he abandons his rulership, said united hordes will just start a massive spergout and destroy everything in their path.
2) With or without having united the savage lands, his child is stolen by the fire god as payment for the waters of life or some shit, and Zpear will set off to face off in an epic war to end all wars with the under gods in Season 4.

I don't get how people are confused about Fang's treatment of Spear
If they pay attention to the second episode they'd notice that normal animals will get a whiff of Spears zombie scent and get scared off and other animals become incredibly hostile to him. Fang is a Dinosaur, so she's a normal animal having a normal reaction to something every other animal has had towards Spear.
I think Fang being given so much character in the previous 2 seasons has made people forget that she's still just an animal, albeit one with personality
