Read Sonic IDW (started in 2018). It's actually about the Game series you know
the archie series is complete creator fanfic and SEGA and the Game Creators want nothing to do with it.

Take this with a grain of salt op, Sonic comics have a long, LONG story, specially since the original games from the 90s were so basic with their plots the comics of that era didn't have a lot of wiggle room so they had to come up with some bullshit as they go.
Nowadays the situation has been settled with the IDW comics after the Archie line of comics eated shit and died due to reasons I'm not going to explain in this post.
If you want to actually get into a Sonic comic continuity that feels familiar or at least as familar as you are with modern Sonic media, go with IDW comics, if you want the absolute insanity of "what once was" go with Archie comics.
A little heads up about IDW though, there's an arc that goes a bit too long so its recommended to take breaks while reading it.

Just read IDW, it can be a bit dull (because it's the same writer as frontiers) but it's the best place to start
There's separate canons so you don't need to worry about checking those out unless you're interested
>Archie
Batshit fanfic, sounds fun but you have to read about furry OC #190 and knuckles kissing cousin mostly
>Post reboot Archie
I like it personally but I can't recommend it lol
>Fleetway
Sci fi British nonsense, only notable thing is that the writers had no cultural context for super sayan so it has the most unique super sonic

Well, if you want Modern Sonic, then just go with IDW's main Sonic series, but if you are looking Classic Sonic stories then IDW has a handful of those as well.

You'll want to start.... With the games.
For the most RELEVANT path ahead you'll want to play the following:
Sonic 1, CD, 2, 3&Knuckles, Segasonic the arcade game, and Sonic the fighters
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
(Entering kinda' bad territory)
Sonic Heroes
(Entering kinda' good territory)
Sonic Advance 1, 2, 3.
Sonic Battle
Sonic Rush
(Entering bad territory)
Shadow the Hedgehog until you get sick of it and watch the rest of the cutscenes on youtube
(good game territory)
Sonic Riders
(Awful garbage territory)
Watch Sonic 06's cutscenes on youtube or something.
(good again)
Sonic Rush Adventure
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic Colors
Sonic Generations (original)
(bad again)
Sonic lost world
(really good)
Sonic Mania
(really bad)
INTERMISSION: You can start reading the prequel comics to Sonic Forces that explains some important stuff
Sonic Forces
And then the idw comics pick up right after Forces.
And then sometime during your read-through you'll wanna play through Sonic Frontiers, which I think is pretty cool. The comic crew also made a point and click game called "The murder of Sonic the Hedgehog" (it's free). You can play this after playing Frontiers.

Hate dork orders like this. Dude doesn't need to consume EVERYTHING, my guy. Understand that most people don't share your autism.
