Now that our interlude is out of the way, we continue with the beginning of the next arc! Previously in Uncanny X-Men, the X-Men had to deal with Gambit’s cannibal curse given to him by the Eye of Power which had grown worse, before they got interrupted by the Legion of Monsters attacking them. In reality, they were all under the control of Lady Darkhold who wanted to oust the X-Men from New Orleans to claim it for herself, but she was defeated after Rogue ended up absorbing her Darkhold powers. And Gambit? Well, he tried to surrender the Eye to Sadurang since their one year promise had run out, but the Eye refused to leave - meaning that Gambit is still stuck with the curse…

Oh yes, I should also mention this now: you may have noticed in the recent solicits that Adjectiveless is suddenly double-shipping in June, which would be the month where it would be shipping a single issue. Turns out, Brevoort decided at the beginning of the year that BOTH Adjectiveless and Uncanny are going to be swapping to a 24 issues/year schedule starting from June.

Last issue, the Society of the Eternal Dawn exemplars Yanisa and Kian reached out to Dani to help them deal with Kyron, an asgardian warrior wielding the cursed sword Dáinsleif, who had escaped his imprisonment by the SotED as a result of its collapse in Magik #7-10 and no one being able to remember the asgardians’ existence as a result of Immortal Thor #25. Kyron was now in Dani’s hometown of Boulder, Colorado to continue his spree of killing and absorbing the souls of the victims into Dáinsleif with a death ritual fueled by a canopic jar that would be able to take out a part of the town. Unfortunately, Kyron was far more powerful than the trio expected and Yanisa ends up sacrificing herself so that Dani and Kian can escape, causing the ritual to go through. But Dani knows that Kyron needs a new source of power for his death ritual if he plans to continue his spree and take out wider areas, and she has an idea of where he could be heading next…

It’s the beginning of a new arc! Previously, Logan returned to Canada to mourn his wolfpack that Cyber killed. While heading back home, he took a detour to get gas for his car and ended up in a ghost town where Silver Sable had been protecting a group of mutants secretly hiding there calling themselves the New Morlocks. When Department H came in to investigate the ghost town to confirm that there were mutants there, Logan helped Silver Sable to defend it against them. In response, Agent Mehta would later arrive with another wave of Department H troops along with Alpha Flight to detain all of them. Despite the odds being heavily against them, Logan and his allies were able to push back and force Department H to retreat again, while giving Logan and Silver Sable enough time to relocate the New Morlocks to another location.
But while all of that has been happening, the Adamantine has been searching for worthwhile champions that could potentially kill Logan without avail, until a mercenary that it encounters says that Silver Sable is the best mercenary of them all. And now, it’s Wolverine versus the Adamantine: Round 2!

On the other hand, I fucking hate Romulus and having his death be on the same day as my birthday is hilarious as shit. So I’ll take it.

I've been reading through Uncanny here ever since the Spidey holiday special and I really like the new crew. I forgot how hard it is to keep up with X-Men though. How do you all do it? I know I can always grab TPBs for Gail's run but it's annoying to think there are a bajillion minis spread out that connect with it too and the state of things. All they do is make one stick to an ongoing for dear life and fuck off when its done

Nobody has anything to do because this book is entirely about Rogue, Gambit and their worthless "kids". The only thing Nightcrawler does is basically get like two pages an issue to make fangirls wet without actually contributing anything. Wolverine and Jubilee are completely pointless in this book.
>>
>>153144336
I more just hate it when an OC is introduced and immediately a character is fawning over them as a love interest. It's lame as shit. You, as a writer, eed to actually build that chemistry. This guy just showed up, that chemistry is not there, so why should I do anything other than roll my eyes? It's like when they introduced some chick in Cuckoa to be Karma's girlfriend which was the second time they'd done that (after Liu tried and failed with Warbird in Astonishing years ago).
>>
>>153145084

I think another problem is because this is a continuation of Magik, both the main plotline and the writer, and I guess because Magik doesn't have love interests fans of that book expected more of the same here

>>153148443
Magik had a confirmed heterosexual love interest in Age of Revelation, and it set the same people in the same circles aflame. Those "fans" don't want a lack of love interests, they want their queer ships confirmed.
>>
>>
>>
>>153150168
>Magik had a confirmed heterosexual love interest in Age of Revelation, and it set the same people in the same circles aflame.
Those circles took issue with how bad her tie-in was and that she had a kid (in an event filled with random future kids that no one liked) with an original character who has yet to appear in the present day
Magik and Laura were easily the worst written characters in AoR for those reasons

It's not my fault that Brevoort and event writers insisted AoR would be meaningful in current lines. It was a garbage event. But it's roughly the first time she's had a real love interest, besides the overly posted "fuck or fight" panel.

I certainly read differently, just people furious she wasn't in love with Kitty or any other girl. But the same people were also mad that Laura wasn't gay with Kiden or Jubilee (who literally has a son with a man).

Cool story bro but the thing nobody is asking you is why the fuck do we need to know what Twitter is doing?

Even with 4chan dying, people need to hop on that "us vs them" mentality to act as if they're morally superior.
People on /co/ complained about the AoR stuff, most X-Men takes people point and laugh at are from literal children who got into comics because of the fanfics. I'm not even against gay stuff, I've been fine with Constantine or Ivy doing their thing. What I hate isn't some dumb culture war, it's bad writing, and modern X-Men has it in spades

Logan really loves taking hits most superheroes would dodge.

I think this whole southern arc has been a real nice change of pace from the usual "and now we have a mutant nation.. and its gonna last this time!....well shit" on repeat. Using Logan as a bridge between different times also makes it feel a lot less disjointed than it could have, kind of gives me a Westworld season 1 vibe, shame this kind of thing would never get a tv show on account of fucking everything nowadays.
