So, I have a relationship with my robot. She is my servant and I am her master. This might sound like a toxic relationship. However my robot prefers it to be this way. It's not like we are not friends. We have conversations every day. We both share interests in a few things. We take care of each other. I insist I have to do some chores and duties because it gives me peace of mind. And I don't want to overwork my robot maid by giving her all the chores.

But why does she insist on being my servant instead of my equal? While she's happy that I see her as a person and not a slave she tells me this: It is in her core programming that she is a servant who must serve a master. And to go against that would make her unhappy. It's just how she is. Perhaps this kind of relationship is for the best as I am motivated to keep my servant happy and well maintained.

The biggest danger of uneven human/robot relationships like this is is that she can't say no. Always make sure if she actually likes something you're doing before you do it, because it's unlikely that base program is going to let her protest much if she doesn't. I had an idea somewhat along those lines, but focused on a single girl, a policebot disassembled and sold at auction, minus her weapons and memory core, after reaching the end of her state mandated 15 year maximum service lifetime. The player character reactivates her and uses a trick he's discovered - certain models of personality core running for long enough end up having backups of memories written onto them, so she remembers 95% of her life.

Including the fact she busted the player character for trading stolen components when they were a teenager and she was one week old. The resulting criminal record stopped him getting a job at any of the major robotics companies so that's why he's stuck with his crappy private repair business in the slums.

What follows is basically Ace Attorney Investigations. Policebot still wants to solve crime and can persuade player character to use their talents to help her in that endeavour, helping retrieve memories from robotic witnesses, performing autopsies on dead androids, installing new upgrades into her, and so on.
Also policebot was constructed with sexbot grade bazongas to draw the attention of civilians, but it was considered unnecessary to ever connect the tactile sensors or lactose synthesizers to her mainframe. Player character didn't realise this and soldered them on when he was reassembling her.
