Everyone's a critic. I think their justification for using AI is two-fold:
1) drawing by hand is super slow, especially at that level of detail, and it is the paradox anyone who creates a patreon tier is caught in where they feel they need to go from 100% capacity to 200% capacity, so AI is a cheap (as in time) way to fill that gap (aside: personally I think the only patreon model that makes sense is delay release 1 month and that's it), and
2) yeah AI is sloppy now but thinking things will keep getting better is not unreasonable, and it is nonetheless a skill to acquire, learning how to assemble different AI components together to get the look you want. There is a big difference between someone who casually is like "show me tiddy" and someone who knows the impact of every word in the prompt and every transformation component they load in, etc.
Satin is sharing their experimentation as bonus material, but their productivity went down long before they started putting out AI stuff.
