Put 4" of wood between the steel frame and table top. You'll need longer bolts. Also sort out your cable management, bitch.

>2x4" is 3.5"
cut a length of 2x4 to go under each leg

op isnt cognizant enough to set his desk up on some pallet boards or even 4 cans of beans but youre suggesting he disassemble it and build custom spacers and obtain new hardware

Put a pallet on the top of your desk and then your keeb and monitor on top of that

carpet looking pretty old, probably the best way to raise the desk would be to strip out the carpet and put in an extra 3-4 inches of floor, then put fresh carpet down on top of it

You aren’t supposed to add that much floor it’s bad for the beams

I got cheap landscaping bricks and put cardboard under them to prevent scratching the floor. Cost me like $4.

did it make your desk more wobbly? i think the stands on mine are just too flimsy and shit anyway desu

Not even a little.
>>

Rest the desk on 2x4s standing vertically for roughly 3.5"

>a 2x4 on its edge with a table on top of it is totally stable

No, that's stupid. You'd use a 4x4 so it doesn't want to tip over.
>>

This. Couple chunks of 4x4 slightly longer than your current desk legs. Drill holes and lag bolt to legs.

4x4 laid flat under each of the feet.
Drill holes down through existing metal feet.
Attach feet to 4x4's with some lag screws.
Solid as a rock.

if you own a lathe, make L shaped blocks that will fit in the metal tubing. drill and tap the blocks and install adjusting screw feet so it's perfectly level. you can bring a paint chip to home depot to get color matched paint so it looks original.

Some relief notches in the floor joists would help OP use the more sleek 2x4 design.
