I've been using my vessel tang-thru as my main for a few years, love the weight on it and I don't have to carry around anything but the bits and adapters. Was walking through Harbor Freight earlier today and came across this thumb ratchet. I was thinking hey, if I could figure out an adapter for that I can turn my vessel into a ratcheting screwdriver with a modular attachment.
Problem is, I can't find anything like a male to female 1/4 square to square (female on both ends). I could cut a longer bit and use the hex bit drive end then attach a female to hex bit adapter like a tekton to it, but that's an extra piece.
Anyone out there have an alternate solution?

I found a female to female from bahco, it's like $30 so yea, fuck that. There's literally no other option commercially available that I've found.
So what I'm going to do is cut the tip off a spare 3" bit and use the hex shank into the bit holder on one side. That leaves me the 1/4 square drive open for either a nut or a 1/4 sq to bit holder like a wera or tekton.
So now I have nice stubby ratchet for tight spaces, a standard screwdirver with the vessel, or I can combine the two and have a ratcteting screw/nut driver all for $20 (minis adapter which is like $5 or $20 for a wera).
I could have just gone with a regular ratcheting screwdriver, but I love the weight of the tang thru. Anyway, I'll post a pic when it's done. Just need to break out the hacksaw and a file.

Hence the use of the tang-thru, you can usually tap it in further to get a better bite to unscrew. This usually works. Depending on what the screw is in, you can also drill them out, or if not you need a screw extractor.
