NTA but if you are interested in an honest answer It struggles with anything that is style related. Not only artists, but mediums and generic styles like 1980's or other retro styles. Even if you carefully pick quality tags and negatives or even not use at all, it washes styles a lot.
When I have to do anything that is actually close to an artist I usually use a noobai mix. Same if I want to do something that is "retro" style.

Wai does well with retro characters anime screenshots if you use a lora though, the same way it pulls very well with characters in their anime styles, as long as you use a lora of said character.

It also works well in turning characters into anime versions of said characters, then again, as long as you use a lora.

So, if you want to make for example an image that looks like a certain artist, or an image that is "watercolor" or an original character in 80s style, stay away from WAI. Noob is the way to go there.

Now, what WAI does well is turning any character from any style into anime moeblobs and making screenshot-like images as long as you have a character lora.
It also works well recreating certain series styles but that's more like a case to case scenario. For example, it does nice Danmachi girls or Precures.

If I want to make a game girl into an anime girl, recreate an 80s character or anything anime I go WAI.

I know for some people is a boring choice, but honestly even if I like certain artists, like everyone, I above all like my ecchi and my anime girls looking very anime like, as if was some promo material or even as if was an screenshot from an hypothetical series if possible. That's why WAI is my first choice most part of the time.

I'm guessing that one of your gens wasn't selected for the highlights? I get that it’s frustrating to put a lot of time into a piece and then see lower-effort stuff getting attention. It sounds like you take a really careful approach to generating ecchi, and that's good.

At the end of the day, the highlights are just one person’s picks, and AI art spaces tend to have a huge range of skill levels. That’s kind of the tradeoff with AI making art so accessible now. You get a lot of rough stuff mixed in with the good.

Honestly, you might get a better response by showing an example of what you consider a strong gen. People could learn from it, and it would raise the standard more than arguing about it. :)

The digital art upscayl isn't as good for this as another one for realistic/cgi... 'digial art' is best for Ecchi. The original video in motion looks fantastic.
