No it's due to the fact that there is far less compression in the VAE. It was actually trained on a generalist dataset too.

No, the fact that it has a way more sophisticated TE compared to SDXL means that you can actually describe stuff and it will most likely understand it. I also had better luck with prompting for objects that aren't danbooru tagged.
