Thinking about trying a pair of Red Tornadoes. Can anyone confirm whether or not their slim fit fits over cowboy boots?

Which brands make good quality washed / faded denim? Im thinking RRL, levi's blue tab, orslow, full count, who else? Im looking for light or grey wash jeans.
Bought a pair of nudies on sale and the whiskering looks like drawn on dogshit, picrel. Also the rad rufus cut is slim straight in case anyone cares.

i was one of the first english speakers who started talking about denim on the internet and i started the denim general on here. a lot of the posts that look like me spamming are actually the other guy just copy and pasting my posts from the archives to try to confuse people and make it look like i'm spamming. i drive a low miles excellent condition 1988 325is in a rare highly desired paint color. the m3 sucks ass on the street its a high strung 4 banger made for the track. my car's worth like 20-30k. its a car that makes pretty much everyone's top 10 list of best cars ever made. they're extremely reliable, fun to drive, beautiful and tasteful. the e30 is the most accomplished platform in motorsports history. poojeets like you do not understand class or taste because this is your first generation outside of abject poverty. and you don't know anything about cars whatsoever so you are easily impressed with stuff like an ipad in the dashboard. you literally out yourself as third world or a woman-like male who can't turn a wrench if you're not at least aware that its a highly sought-after collector car and i have a clean ass example.

office workers wearing workwear is pure larp shit and everyone knows it even if they wont say it out loud you sit in a chair all day clicking boxes but you dress like youre about to weld something or fix a fence raw denim thats never been washed because its never been used boots that have never seen dirt just office carpet and a parking garage chore coats worn indoors like they give you +5 competence none of it does anything its just a costume to feel less pointless while answering emails that could vanish tomorrow and nothing would change. the tell is how precious they are about it real work clothes get destroyed and nobody gives a fuck office guys obsess over fades creases heritage and the story behind the fabric because the clothes are doing the heavy lifting their lives arent they dont want to work they want to look like work happened at some point thats why every piece comes with a paragraph explaining why its authentic if you need to explain it its already over. they also all dress the same while pretending theyre being individual selvedge denim white tee service boots beard watch repeat its npc uniform but theyll swear its personal expression because they swapped one japanese brand for another the clothes arent chosen theyre selected from a flowchart you follow so you can signal taste without risking looking weird thats why the fits are always safe and boring and why every deviation causes a panic post asking if its acceptable and the funniest part is how defensive it gets the second you point it out suddenly its about appreciation craft history respect for labor meanwhile the closest thing to labor theyve done all year is carrying a standing desk upstairs if the clothes actually mattered they wouldnt need the moral essay attached to them just wear your costume go to your meeting and stop pretending the jacket is doing anything other than making you feel less hollow for eight hours

Wrangler recentlyvreoeased a collection inspired by Stranger Things. I don't care about the show but it has a handful of cool retro pieces. I got the 13mwz in corduroy. Was looking for cords and seeing it's a 13mwz couldn't resist. Got if half off on sale. They're a bit thinner and lighter than I'd like, but whatever.
>>
>>18649179
Ehhhh, if I wanted some cords I would not opt for the wrangler cowboy aesthetic. I feel like corduroys should have some relaxation to them. A pair of 13MWZ is pretty tight in the ass and gives off the cowboy silhouette. Kind of a weird pairing
>>
>>18649329
Got them on my size and comparatively they're more relaxed in the ass/hips than my denim 13mwz. In my experience cords tend to stretch quite a bit with use, so it's less of an issue.
Still looking for straight/relaxed cords with bootcut leg or a bit of flare and a thicker fabric, but these will do for the time being.

I’m looking at a pair of raws (unwashed). Ending inseam should be around 32-32.5” if I go through with a hot soak. However, I’d prefer that the inseam not shrink that much as I usually like it around 33.5”. If I just do a cold soak, followed by regular cold washes and hang dries, should I expect there to be a continuous, incremental shrinkage of the inseam until it maxes out at 32”, or will the shrinkage max out around 33-33.5” inseam?

Rant here. There are only 3 companies you need to pay attention to when buying a pair of jeans: Warehouse, Fullcount, and Sugarcane. There’s A LOT of great companies out there, but at the end of the day these 3 mog everyone. Do not spend a dime on a pair of samurai’s, iron hearts, onis, or any other millennial-core meme denim. All that shit is extremely gimmicky and will never be able to compete with the timelessness of the normal vintage repros made by the formerly mentioned brands. I spent the last 6 years cycling through a ton of jeans from a bunch of companies: Real McCoys, Samurai, IH, Freewheelers, etc.. Some of these brands undoubtedly make great jeans. None of them however really match up to the perfect balance of denim weight, texture, and color as well as the perfected cuts from Warehouse Fullcount and Sugarcane. IH’s cuts suck. Samurai’s denim is too textured and loud. Real McCoy’s denim is too boring and dull. Freewheeler’s denim is also a bit too textured and does not get soft enough.
If there was one single pair of jeans you should buy, it would have to be narrowed down to a tie between:
>Warehouse 1001xx Deadstock Blue
>Sugarcane 1947
These two just have everything balanced. Beautiful and balanced fades with the right amount of irregularity and texture, perfect taper ratio, perfect top block. Don’t spend too much time on finding the next cool pair of jeans. You’re not going to find anything better than these
>>
>>
>>18647666
So from the last thread, my Red Tornado 24MJZ. It's true to size, and everything I had hoped it would be. Solid fucking buy. I'll update it once I manage to fade it. I'm doing push-ups and pull-ups every day in it.

If you’re only considering the thread material and nothing else, then yeah the soillennial tier brands would reign supreme. However, when you consider the cut and denim (the most important factors), the repros in the big picture completely mog them. Heavy weight denim brands with poly cotton stitching have relatively shit cuts, and even if they ended up making a perfect 40s-50s inspired 501 cut, they would have to contend with the fact that their denim exists within the uncanny valley of being too textured, heavyweight, loud. Repros from sugarcane or the Osaka 5 will eventually have some of the cotton thread wear away, but that’s what makes something more /fa/. An authentically worn piece of clothing that is unique to you. It also gives you the opportunity to repair in your own way and make it even more unique. This is the entire purpose of getting into raw denim; unique distress and fades

>>18653900
Wear them regularly. Brands like warehouse and Fullcount are known for producing denim that fades more evenly. As long as you’re wearing them regularly and washing like once a month or two, you should be getting some beige undertones popping through the thighs and knees
>>
>>18653911
>He’s wearing a raw unwashed pair you retard
No, the shape is disgusting. What you just posted is also gross. Why the fuck would you wear a flight jacket over a denim jacket? Sorry, bro, but you have shit taste.
>>
>>
>>18653866
SC1947s fit like ass though. The rear pockets are too big, too low, and too close on the inside corners. If you have any thigh at all, they'll cling around your legs, push the seat fabric up, and the pockets corners will basically direct all of that upwards push to the point just below the yoke, giving the trademark sugar cane pointy butt.
Haven't tried warehouse, but the measurements on Self Edge make them look like jeans for twinks. Ill stick to my Samurai S510 and S3XXX, IH-1955, and Indigofera Kirks for nicer jeans.

I have weightlifter thighs and own both the IH1955 and the s510xx. The 1001xx 1953 and 1954 have the perfect thigh width and top block for athletic physiques, it’s wider than the SC1947 and has more mobility. The IH1955 has a great top block, but the taper below the knee ruins the silhouette, and the denim is for millennials. The s510xx has a great silhouette, but the rise is too low, and again the denim is worn almost exclusively by limpwristed soillennials. You’re not entirely wrong about the sugarcanes, but I slightly disagree with how low you’ve described the backpockets to be.

Im 5'9 so the inseam and rise thing could be more of a challenge if youre taller. On the 1955 taper, since its all from the knee down, you can chop the hem to like 32" and end up with an ~8.5" opening which is fairly standard for a post 1950s Levis. And the 510 rise is on the lower end of wearable (11.5" on my kiwamis), but its not a jean Id tuck a shirt into anyway because the thigh is a little too slim relative to the waist to be comfortable when sized for a fitted top block.
Regarding the SC1947, picrel is right before I donated my pair. Thats ~3mo of wear, 4 washes, and 2 hot dries. From the front they fit great but from the side you can see how, if the legs are fitted enough to support the top block even a little, the pockets push the yoke out away from the body. The issue is less pronounced when worn lower, but then why even pick a higher rise pant if Im just going to sag them?
And re Warehouse, I may need to try them in person but the size chart isnt promising. Self Edge lists the tag 33 SC1947- the size im wearing in the pic- as having a 32" waist and 13" thigh. Those were already a little big in the waist when worn high. Meanwhile the closest 1001xx 1953 has a pre-soak measurement of 35" in the waist (ostensibly dropping to ~33" post soak) and a 12.25" thigh. Thats not getting over my hips.

The shape is fine. The guy is just a subhuman who's wear a pair that's too big for him and in addition to that is sagging those high rise jeans down to his dick. If you don't want to wear high rise pants at your waist then don't buy high rise pants. Stick to mid or low rise. It's not only pointless and uncomfortable to sag high rise pants, it will also make your silhouette look weird and disproportionate.
>>
File: IMG_7348.jpg (3.4 MB)
3.4 MB JPG
>>18653948
In my experience, Self Edge underestimates the thigh widths on their jeans. I always measure mine perpendicularly out from the crotch seam. With this standard, I’ve always found that Redcast Heritage and DC4 Berlin have the most accurate size charts to reference.
Pic related our my 1001xx 1953 (right) and SC1947 (left), each size 34. The measurements are as follows:
>1001xx: 13.4” thigh, 13” front rise, 16.8” back rise, 34” waist.
>SC1947: 13.2” thigh, 12.5” front rise, 17” back rise, 34” waist
A few other things to consider is that the warehouse DSB denim is VERY forgiving compared to the tighter, denser weave of sugarcane’s denim. If you’ve ever worn Fullcount’s denim, the DSB is basically as stretchy as that. Not sure how the 1001xx would fit on you since you prefer wearing the waist above your hips and I usually wear mine on my actual waist. The back yoke on the 1001xx is slightly shallower than the 1947s, and its back rise is a tiny bit shallower.
Have you ever tried the Freewheelers 1951? Mine feel very similar to the 13MWZ. Nice roomy top block with a deep yoke. Rise is a tiny bit shallower than the 13MWZ, but the leg dimensions are almost exactly the same. Also, check out the TCB 30s

Iron Heart is full blown retarded. I want to like their jeans because their denim is quite nice and I really dig their arcuates, but my god they are completely incapable of making an unbastardized straight cut.
>888 is mega tapered and gay
>634's rise is ungodly low
>1955 has perfect top block and then gets ruined by the unnecessarily high degree of taper below the knee
They're apparently going to be releasing an actual wide cut in March that will be exclusive to Iron Heart Germany, and then they will be incorporating it as a reoccurring cut for their other denims. If they produce it in one of their overdyed black denims, I would immediately purchase a pair.
All of their other cuts are in some form designed to appeal to soillennials and gen x tech bros. Apparently they don't trust themselves enough to just produce a cut that would essentially be the leg dimension of the 634 but with any actual medium/high rise instead of the unnecessary low rise.

Denim noob here and a question for more fit bros.
I'm 5'9, 188 pounds (33W) and have reasonably muscular legs, nothing disproportionate, just want my jeans to fit like pic related. I've looked at a few brands and interested in the following (Black):
>The Blubaugh- Mid Rise Slim Straight Black Selvedge Jeans- 13.5 oz.
>Wrangler 13MWZ original cowboy straight fit jeans
>OrSlow Ivy Fit 107s
How would any of these fit? Some of you were shitting on the Iron Hearts, not sure what to make desu.
I have a pair of Boss Delaware (34/32 bit loose) that fit really well, just looking for a different colored pair thats more cowboy aesthetic.
If this gets too annoying I might just go for the:

13MWZ is going to be the most representative of those photos. If you want a similar-fitting Japan made 501, check out Freewheelers 1951. Since you’re short and stalky, you’re going to want to stay away from wide cuts, that shit will ruin your proportions and make you look even more short. Stick to normal straight with a balanced taper. Keep in mind that if you wear size 33 in American brands, most Japanese brands will end up being size 34 for a comparable waste dimension. Always refer to size charts

He’s 100% correct. You can spend years looking for the perfect pair of Japan made jeans when in reality the SC1947 will fit 90% of dudes, has the perfect leg silhouette, has the most well-balanced denim, and is actually made really well and durable even compared to a lot of Japan made stuff. I spent years wearing tons of different jeans when after all that time I put on the sugarcanes and realized they’re actually unbeatable

I’ve never heard anything objectively bad about them, but they have the reputation of being the slim cut millennial core brand. Just browsed their pricing. >It's not only pointless and uncomfortable to sag high rise pants, it will also make your silhouette look weird and disproportionate.
I have long legs, so wearing medium/high rise jeans on my actual waist balances my proportions. If you are however short, it would make sense to wear a pair of high rise above your hips

One thing I never realky got from the muh sicc fadezz crowd is what's the end game? Like you spend a couple of years wearing a pair of jeans until you get to that sweet spot of fades and then what? Are tgey gonna stop fading magically? All that time and effort for a pair of jeans that's only gonna look just right betweenbtwo washes?
If you think about it, that crowd spends mre time wearing non-faded jeans tgan actually faded ones.
Side note: my bravestar jeans made with white oak cone denim are fading like fucking crazy, faster even than I'd like to. I've heard this is quite common with white oak denim. So, if for some reason you wanna speerun the fading process, look for NOS jeans with white oak cone denim.
>>
>>18659066
End game is not buying new pants you never wear since your main focus is wearing your most recent pair as much as possible with your old pairs being in your off-day rotation or something you wear on appropriate social events. It's the opposite of fast fashion where you're spending pennies on stuff that'll disintegrate after a few wear and where you're primarily focused on reinventing your look every season.

Jeans are more of a casual piece of clothing, so having authentically faded jeans look good on a casual fit. The goal is to wear your new pair of raws until they get a good level of fade and distress and then retire them to be used for more relaxed, laid back fits. I wear my newer raws for literally anything including work, but I sometimes get a pair of my faded jeans to use when going out to hang with friends or go to a show.
Some people will just have one single pair where they just wear it every single day until it disintegrates. Those people live for the journey and the enjoyment of the wearing experience. I live for the collection of faded jeans in various denims and cuts.

I should have put TCB on that list. I actually think their 30s jeans are the most underrated if you don’t mind the cinch back and crotch rivet. Much more interesting denim with richer indigo tones, and a slightly more relaxed top block than the 50s jeans. Also, don’t sleep on Freewheelers’ 47 cut
>>
>>
>>18659307
>>18659325
Are the TCBs really that good? They're cheaper than the other brands mentioned. I like that the brands seems pretty straightforward, no frills.
>>
>>18659335
It depends. If you have larger thighs, even the TCB 50s (their most straightforward pair) fits slightly snug, and I would say fits a tiny bit more snug than the sugarcanes. However, if you don’t mind having a cinch back and crotch rivet, the actual cut of the TCB 30s is perfect. If these things aren’t going to work for you, the Warehouse 1001xx 1953 or 1954 is about the most straightforward repro 501 with slightly more thigh width and forgiveness in the stretch capability of the denim than the sugarcane 1947 and TCB 50s. If you don’t have larger thighs, the sugarcane 1947 and TCB jeans are a great option.

What's the cutofffor "large thighs"? Mine are about 25 inch in circumference at around mid thigh. I've trouble fitting in vintage 505 and some slimmer models of 501. Wrangler 13mwz fit just fine, 936 kinda tight, but wearable.
>>
>>
>>18659462
I wear a size 36 on most jeans (inb4 fat, I know). I'm 5'10 with a stocky build my legs have always been disproportionately large. Even when I was a size 32 I had trouble finding jeans that fit my thighs and weren't too loose at tge waist. No, I'm not gonna stop squatting and deadlifting, thank you very much. My current jeans are:
-13mwz in rigid indigo size 35. Fits right at the waist, neither tight nor loose at the thigh
-13mwz in dark grey size 36, a bit loose in the waist and thighs
-936 whiskey size 36, tight at the waist and moreso at the thighs but still wearable
-bravestar (unknown model) size 36, right at the waist and thigh (can pinch an inch of fabric) would be ma favourite pair if it weren't for the not so great hip mobility
-Iron heart 643 size 36, thight at the waist, fine everywhere else. Wish the rise was a couple inches longer.
-Uniqlo selvedge straight (not the slim straight) size 36 quite loose at the waist and somewhat loose at the thighs.
-Red tornado 55501 size 36, right at the waist, relaxed from the hips down. Do not like the shilouette that much but very comfy jeans
Jeans I discarded:
-LVC 505 1967, size 36, so tight at the thighs I could barely get them on. Crotch blowout was inminent
-Levis 501 1947 from 2008, size 36. Tight at the waist and thighs, would need to size up.
-Several Lee models, none of them fit right, gave up on the brand altogether.
Still looking for that perfect pair of jeans, ideally would be something with a rise just slightly lower tgan the 13mwz, snug on the top block and just the right give on the thighs, like the 634. Straight cut without too much fabric flailing bellow the knee.

Youd probably be able to fit pretty well in the TCB 50s if you go with a size 36. If your best fitting pair is the 13MWZ, check out Freewheelers 1951. I wear a 13MWZ in size 34, and my pair of Freewheelers in the same size has the same leg dimensions with just a slightly lower rise. It’s honestly one of the most perfect top blocks I’ve ever worn. You should also try finding a pair of Warehouse 1001xx 1954. Currently my favorite pair. Fits that perfect balance of slightly relaxed while still looking like a straight cut.

I tried looking for some, but I quickly found out there’s virtually none that are unlined Japan made in a “modern” length. The only ones I could find was Lee’s actual Japan line, but it’s more of the classic cropped cut, so I’m not sure if that’s a deal breaker. There’s like a million Type II jackets that meet your requirements though if you don’t care that it’s not a rider’s jacket repro. The Type II is almost the same in the sense it has two chest pockets and your desired cut, but without the specific shape of the Lee pockets and vertical seems on the front

Well, I'm not in a hurry, got a handful of jeans on rotation already. Most probably will opt for the tcbs eventually, on account of them being significatively cheaper than the pther options and I kinda digg their stance: no meme denim, just a handful of true to heart repros of iconic cuts.

Heard that. I can attest to my 30s jeans being VERY nice, so as long as you feel confident about the cut of the 50s jeans then you won’t be disappointed. I wear the 13MWZ in size 34 for a perfect thigh width and went with a size 34 in the TCBs and the sugarcane 1947 which is pretty similar to the TCB 50s in terms of leg dimensions. That said, the 50s cut is known to fit a tiny bit slim on some guys similar to the SC1947, so if you wear a 35 in the 13MWZ I think opting for a size 36 in the TCBs should be good. For more reference my IH634 in the 21 oz is size 35 and I agree that the rise is too low. Yours probably fit tight in the waist because of how low the rise is

In japan rn, have got a load of complements on my tcb 40s from random fashion niggas. I'm pretty set for jeans rn but any cool pickups I should check out? Kind of interested in the beams x levis relaxed 501s but haven't seen them anywhere. Could probably cop a new jacket but it would need to be something interesting, already have a resolute trucker. Maybe a type 1?

Go to Desolation Row, Klamp Kayo, or Mirrorball to try on all the Freewheelers stuff. A lot of their jackets are pretty bold, but some of their stuff is very rad, I’m pretty sure they have a type 1. Might also be worth checking out Jelado’s retail space, I’ve heard good things.

- They definitely target schizotypial, schizoid and narcissistic anons. Personally I'm a schizoid hikikomori. Most leaders tend to be narcissists (also known as the warrior gene) and schizotypial/schizoid thinkers have autistic thinking without the cognitive impairment and for all of human history have tended to be either dysfunctional retards or paradigm shifting thinkers and transcendent virtuoso artists and the likes. My point is, those "chuds" were the most dangerous ones to the agenda behind the janny's.
- Anons the jannies did not like were deemed "schizos" to discredit them in the eyes of anons but I think a lot of people miss the big picture: Jannies were afraid and focusing their efforts heavily on severing the more creative outside-the-box thinking anons from the normiecattle. Normalizing the idea that any unusual idea or concept you haven't heard of before at face value is "schizo" before you've looked into it was a psyop in and of itself.
- Ultimately they don't want you go into the real world and do something meaningful/influential. I forgot the quote and where it's from, but ever heard that one about how in the devil's perfect world man wouldn't be tortured or anything like that, rather he'd be staring at a wall watching paint dry for eternity?

The cut on those indigoferas look decent, but yeah they’re not denim. In my opinion, olive or brown colored fabrics only look good if the cut is more relaxed. Think of the buzz rickson 1951 field trousers or any other fatigue pants or relaxed chinos. If you’re creative enough you’d probably be able to pull off some good fits with those though

How do I fade a deep wabash jacket down to this even lighter shade? Would you wash it much more frequently (every 30 wears?) or even mix in bleach?
And also should I try stretching it out after the wash? It’s still pretty stiff but the arms have really hiked up and it’s a little snug in the torso as well.

The 40s cut is definitely slim, and the 50s cut is right on the border of slim (similar to the SC1947), so if you have large thighs you will definitely need to size up. I wear 33-34 in various American brands and usually a size 34 in jap brands, so I went with a 34 in the 30s cut since it’s already relatively relaxed (compared to the 50s cut) and it’s perfect. I have slightly larger than average thighs and ass too, so I usually have to opt for relaxed cuts. If you are stocky and short, you may want to consider going with a different brand that has slightly more taper. TCBs cuts have minimal taper, so they could likely make your proportions look really goofy and fat if you go with a size 36-38. I’ve said it multiple other times in this thread, but people need to not sleep on the Freewheelers 1951. It is a nice relaxed top block and has a little bit more taper than TCB’s cuts, but it’s not really a “tapered” cut where the hem opening is like under 8” wide. It’s still a balanced taper ratio where the jeans look like an actual vintage 501, so if you have pretty large thighs as a short stocky guy or if you’re just looking for a cut that looks slightly more slim without it being a slim cut, something like this would be something you’d want to opt for.

I'm 183cm for 92kg /fit so I was looking for stuff with a little room on the tight and a more classic, straight cut rather than a full slim cut those never fit me at all no matter the model, that's why I got my eyes on the TCB 30s
>>
>>18660551
The 30s cut would be a good option. It will definitely provide more room in the top block compared to the 50s jeans. Check the size chart on Redcast Heritage, I found it to be pretty close to the actual measurements of my TCBs
>>
>>
>>18660573
I’m judging it off the size charts. I’m size 34 in most jap denim. A massive front rise of 13.8”, back rise of 17” paired with a tiny thigh width of 12.4” is the most oddly high rise slim cut I’ve ever seen. I have a large thigh to waist ratio, so my thigh width needs to be a 13.2” at the bare minimum, where my ideal width is 13.4-13.5”. I’m sure if you’re a slim guy the 40s cut would be a good option, but i have not worn them and I’ve learned over time to never ignore big red flags on the size charts

The wierd angle mirror selfy might limit how helpful these are, but these are 34 waist 40s. I squat almost 3 pl8s so I don't have tiny thighs, they're not huge or anything though

I love the resolute 714’s. The fit is just magical. It got all the 501 44’ details but they blend perfectly with the clean cut. Best jeans i ever had.

Does any brand make jeans in this sort of vibrant mid wash? Most mid-washes I see tgese days are either too light or too dark, like tgey got some black mixed in the middle. Used to have jeans in this type of rich midwash blue as a kid and in my early teens, but this particular shade seems to have vanished after the 90s.

I cannot unsee it now, thanks. Have you played the new expansion? I played TWW a few months ago and then quit. Was really into the game during Wrath, but it was absolutely unrecognizable when I played it again. There is just way too much going on, almost feels like it requires even more time compared to the older expansions

going to a ball tonight that requested I dress in cocktail attire. The theme is Garden/ Spring.
Is wearing a nice faded Denim Jacket, either a Levi's Type I or a Wabash Type I, fitting with that theme and dress code? I'd probably pair it with some office khakis and a button up shirt and tie.

Denim is so gay.
