nbt, tcx, pando moto and alpinestars for urban gear
rst, alpinestars, dainese, rev'it for sportbike gear
that's if you want really nice looking gear. if you're in the US and on a budget, just buy whatever's in cycle gear. I only buy italian gear these days because it's all that fits my build. american brands are better if you're a lard.
run a legit helmet like arai or shoei and an airbag if you have the money. i use the shoei x15 and helite h-moov (electronic version) and i won't ride without it at this point. there's a motorcycle general on /o/, you could ask them as well

what do you ride?

The one time you're justified in wearing a leather jacket.

It's doable. It's really annoying to find gear that doesn't make you look like a marshmallow thobeit.

I just embrace the Dual Sport look. I've thought for a while that jeans and a flannel would be pretty /fa/ though, and you can get armored/kevlar lined versions of both that look pretty normal but are safe riding gear.

Harley has a cult following in Japan and lots of those dudes wear stuff like vintage Carhartts and selvedge denim.

I've been thinking about getting armor like that but what's it like in +25 degree weather?
>>
>>18657355
I assume you mean 25C? It's about as good as it gets for hot weather, wear a jersey over the top and air flows right through the whole setup. Do keep in mind that it's really meant for dirt and not that protective on the road though, the armor panels themselves might hold up but everything else will shred instantly if you go down at speed.

Is it worn with a t-shirt underneath?
>>
>>18657429
That's how I wear it anyway. I think a long sleeve Under Armor-type thing would be ideal but I don't have one.

Might also be worth mentioning that you can get reinforced abrasion-resistant shirts/jackets designed to be worn over these, to make them properly safe for street riding. I know the Klim Dakar is one example.

Dress for the slide, not for the ride.

I'd love to see that bitch crash in that outfit!

Beautiful MV Agusta F4! It's an F4, right?
>>
>>18657750
Yes. It’s actually a scene from The Dark Knight Rises. Bruce Wayne has a collection of Ducatis, MV Augustas, and other high end motorcycles in the film.

Great minds, that's exactly what I was thinking of doing. I've heard the fitting on Klim is all fucked up, what's your experience with that (also factoring in armor underneath)?

Basically if you aren't wearing a pair of picrel, and absolutely nothing else, I consider you a fair weather biker who must not enjoy having legs below their knees

We know you can't fuck a real woman, you don't have to prove that to us.

I get being safe is key but isn’t the thing that kills most motorcyclists is the impact from a 2 ton vehicle going 50 and not the road rash
>>
>>18659313
No, the thing that kills most motorcyclists is overestimating their ability, being insufficiently experienced on the motorcycle they are riding, riding inebriated, and insufficient head protection.

You can look this up, it's all in the Hurt Report.

You can survive a crash without a good jacket, boots, pants, gloves, but you might be permanently maimed for no good reason.

man there was a chick built like this on a motorbike ahead of my bus the other day, literally every man was hypnotized and craning their necks to catch a glimpse. it was stop and go traffic so we pretty well had a full view of this womans ass for a long while. that bus driver was the best wingman we never knew we had :')

>half the thread is dumbass shit you can't wear on a motor because the wind will make your body freeze over
???
it's obviously all about leather

Not in any remotely warm weather. I wear mesh gear in the summer and the only time it's really comfortable is at speed on the highway.
