What do you think of penny loafers?

They're my favorite shoes now that I'm in my 30s and dress well for my job and generally just try and look nice yet casual at the same time.
I personally line the American style of wide aprons and tall side walls versus the more Italian/Spanish long narrow pointy styles
My dream loafers are actually JM Weston 180 loafers but apparently sizing them is absolute hell and I'm not French to try them on

I want to wear them to everything this spring and summer. Start with these and a braided belt and then blue suede with matching belt. I'm assuming I need to size down a half size from regular laced shoes?

I dunno. Allen Edmonds are the only dress shoes I sizes up on, but that might just be last specific. I went half up in the 65 last but I'm half down in pretty much every single other American dress shoe brand

Again, what should you dress like in your 30s, not what you shouldn't. You fags have no idea. Anything that's not a manchild outfit is too "square" for you faggots. There is no difference between a 50 year old and 30 year old man. Once you're out of college, you're a grown man, so dress like one.

>gross
Should we be wearing plastic and foam that absorbs moisture and gets smelly instead?
>uncomfortable
I guess if the only dress shoes you ever wore were dogshit you got from Walmart that you wore Grandma's funeral exactly once in your life
>soulless
Ah yes, because plastic and foam glued together by Zhang in China sold for 5000x markup and marketed to blacks and zoomers is so much more soulful than a factory making things by hand with natural materials for 100+ years straight
But go off

The differences are subtle but the Aldens are ever so slightly wider which gives it the edge in terms of casual wearability
My Indys have QC issues and they're the replacement pair for what I was originally shipped which was laughably bad. I'm talking three different threads used to stitch the sole to the welt, and with each new thread they started in a different spot. It looked like what a new employee getting trained on the outsole stitcher would do their first time using the machine. On top of that the thread was all frayed and fuzzy. How Alden ever let that even leave their factory is beyond me. So they shipped me a replacement and the lining is missing a bunch of stitches and separating. I had to use super glue
That was when I realized Alden wasn't for me

They're actually great soles. Nitrile cork soles like that are basically indestructible and will last forever
They have plenty of grip. Maybe not great for snow or ice but I have never once slipped in my Indy boots while I've fallen on my ass in Dainite soles

At least AE has the decency to sell theirs as way cheaper factory seconds with those kinds of defects.

I’ve received shoes from Alden that were ever so subtly “off” but nothing like this. Surely they have some kind of customer service that would’ve replaced them?
