it's not the high waist it's the excessive pleats, hands in the pocket, and the fact that the type 1 jacket has a slimmer bottom hem.that makes him look wider in the hips than what he actually is, giving him a lava lamp shape
not to mention the longer rise/pleats/baggy thighs just make the crotch look bigger by drawing attention to it and that along with the highwaters in turn make the legs look shorter.
type 1 is a classic and the shirt fits a bit baggy but i can deal with those. belt down is bad
