This thread offers a forum to discuss and debate wristwatches, pocket watches, and clocks. Several members here are highly knowledgeable in specified areas of horology, so please contribute to the thread by asking questions and/or asking for advice if you are planning on purchasing a watch from an AD or the grey market. Please post pics of your watches here; it doesn't matter if it's worth 5$ or 50000$, because there might be someone who wishes to eventually purchase the same model that you own and would love to hear some real-world advice regarding ownership. The experience matters the most, not the price.
Everyone is welcome in this thread, because we are all Frens here.

Is anyone familiar with this male or model? Mark Fairwhale FW-4460 Vecto.
I had never heard of this until last night, I was watching Aliens and looking up the watches the characters were wearing and this pops up. I’m intrigued but know absolutely nothing about this maker.

Bros, what are your thoughts on the G-shock MT-G line?
It caught my interest recently since it seems like with it you get something pretty close to what a MR-G is, but for a much lower price.

Turns out you can read the text on the dial that is reflecting off of the underside of the minute hand which is then reflecting off of the day window frame.

Some of those 'Yes' watches are pretty unique with all the digital horizon stuff. Never seen it before.
But they also sell this.
It is refreshing to see some different kinds of watches though. Even only via links. The locals here are very serious about their penchant for just posting the same dozen watches over and over. Don't upset the apple cart.

> where did all the watch freaks go? there use to be 4 threads all busy with watches
They left. There’s no point. Spending a couple minutes typing out a thoughtful response to an interesting question is pointless when everyone in the thread is pissed at the same four trolls’ low-effort spamposting.
It’s all part of the plan. Whoretadello thought he was going to be the main character forever, and got upset that people got tired of his repetitive posts.
Kofefag didn’t like that people called him fat when he tried posting a fit pic.
Bittercel has no watches at all and hates everyone almost as much as he hates himself.
The only reason this general continues is so the trolls can make sure that actual watch discussion doesn’t happen.

oh I will. and i dont have to pretend... it routinely creates coping and sneeding in these threads, see anon early citing reviewers (already lol) saying they 'regret' the prx for some reason.
the prx naturally creates haters because it is a swiss watch at an affordable price point. this flies in the face of shitterfags whos continued existence requires routinely justifying wearing 'boderry' or 'militado' pieces of shit on knockoff oyster bracelets or godless natos, due to possessing some 'spec monster' feature set they consider the swiss watches lacking or overcharging for. to them, swiss snobbery creates bad value, and the shitter faggots need to larp as if they are in the pursuit of value. it goes to the core of their very existence. furthermore, the prx features iconoclast styling, sizing, and bracelet design, this is the kind of bullshit youd expect from casio and to be accompanied by quartz, something watchfags could just ignore. but the inclusion of swiss automatic alongside quartz era styling creates a unique challenger to the foundation of submariner and oyster perpetual clones the entire watch market sits on top of.
basically the watch was created to annoy faggots. i was unaware of this feature before purchasing, and mildly delighted after discovering it.

This one is even better. $225. 34mm. Full titanium. They call it a "ladies" watch, but I don't see any reason for that. Plenty of mens watches in the same dimensions. And what kind of woman would wear this? I don't see women wearing anything but smartwatches anyway if they're under 60 years old.
If it doesn't have pink and diamonds on it I say it's unisex.

I'm glad you enjoy it but, just as a heads up, those Seikos are produced in India and sold on Etsy, Ebay, etc., and aren't real Seikos, they're sold as a modded watch or something legally acceptable. If you enjoy it, that's great, but I just want to fill you in. I bought one of these and learned that after the fact.

That model just doesn't exist under Seiko, at any point in time. The Seiko logo is just stamped on with ink and it doesn't relate to any model, current or vintage, I'm aware of. You can look up discussion on these exact Seiko tanks online, lots of people buy them because they're cheap and look pretty good, and then they post them online and everyone tells them they're just using the Seiko name.

My old Seiko Presage died late last year (the motion was completely rusted out and Seiko don't produce it anymore, so getting it replaced is off the table). I miss it. I looked around, and found the Garden Line, which looks a lot like my old Presage except for the half-textured face. My issue is that all the black ones are fairly expensive (expensive for what they are and their condition), and also not in decent shape. Rust, scratches, etc. I hesitant to buy one and have it die within a year for the same reason (rusted out motion). Suggestions?
>inb4 "get a different brand"
No, this was my first actual watch, and so it meant something to me. I'm trying to replace like for like here, but it doesn't appear that Seiko is actively selling anything like the Garden Line still otherwise I'd just buy new, and I can't buy my another one of my old Presage's because it'd be about 20 years old now and likely all those are rusted out/dead as well.
I also have a follow up question about a different watch in the next post.

Follow up:
I was looking for a watch with a face that was this exact color a couple of months ago, asked in the other watch thread and got ignored. I found one that looked decent (at least to me) through Chinkshit General and looking on Aliexpress. It's terrible at keeping time (it will lose 3+ hours per day), but it has the face color I want, and the features of a watch I want, and is the size I'd want (40-42mm). Do you guys know of any other watches that have this face color, these features, and doesn't lose time so tragically? I only spent a whopping $17 dollars on it, so it's not like I am hurting over here. I'll still use it for the time being, but if I can find something applicable that's not going to tell me it's 11 AM when it's nearly 4 PM, that'd be nice.

pic related is the only downside so far (only scraped on one of the shoes, I could fix it with a sharpie I guess). I wear them hard, on my motorcycles, in wet conditions, and often walking 10,000+ steps a day. I've always had filthy disgusting sneakers and I do not give a shit about cleaning or preserving them. All the leather parts are still immaculate though, it's a very high quality shoe. Something to note is that all the stitching is 100% intact, which wouldn't be the case if I was still buying adidas shoes. Also they're by far the most comfortable shoes I own. The more I wear them, the better they get. They've molded to my feet, but like I said before they were uncomfortable for the first month. They have to last 7 times longer than a pair of Adidas sneakers to justify the cost, and we're well into the "second life cycle" already. If you're like me and you're sure this is your style, I highly recommend them.
Also since the inside of the shoe is leather, I haven't worn any holes into what is normally shitty soft fabric.

I see. Thanks for the detailed response. I will probably buy them because I usually rotate between three sneakers and one has melted after 3 years of abuse.
Because of the dialtaily life here, I walk at least 5km daily. At the very least. So it's nice to hear that they will hold up even without care.
But about that, I would recommend you to get a "sneaker erases" to clean it, a dedicated cleaning foam and some grease. I mean look at them, they look like new. Took a while to clean and care but it's worth it.
Some creasing is inevitable though.

not sure what to think of these. when there are so many at the same price. why would this be? scam like the indian seikos? or just a surplus of a watch that was never expensive in the first place but has a big name?
>>
>>18663232
They could be super clones purchased off Alibaba. Not sure why you'd buy super clones of those things though, unless the ppu was extremely low and they're flipping them for double/triple/quadruple the price. That might sound scum baggy, but virtually everything you buy on Amazon these days that isn't a name brand is literally just a drop shipper. You can find the same exact item on Ali/Temu for far less almost without fail. Sometimes even better items.
>>
>>18663244
what you you mean the same exact item? vintage oris on ali? i don't really know what drop shipping is, just that it's some kind of shady watch dealer thing
i don't trust anything now
looks like i'm stuck buying brand new from company website to be sure
>>
>>18663248
As in it looks precisely the same, down to the way it keeps time. You could wave a super clone under the nose of just about anyone and they'll fidget at being able to tell you the difference unless you let them open it up. Not all super clones are equal though. I have posted several super clone Rolexs I own on here over the last year and not a single person has called me out.
>What is drop shipping?
It's effectively rent seeking. You go on Amazon and buy an item on there, unless it's a known brand and you are buying from that Brand's store, you are buying from a drop shipper. They don't do anything but set up their listings on Amazon, and then use their contact overseas to get the product here, from there they hire out contractor based shipping companies to move the product. Think Uber but for your shit from Amazon. Gofo is one of the largest. A drop shipper takes an item you can buy on Ali/Temu for $5 bucks and sells it for $25, $35, $50, whatever they feel they can get away with. They are banking on you not looking at who is selling the product, nor looking to see if the same product is on either of those sites. Drop shipping is so common even brand names do it now. Unrelated to watches, there is brand called Bambu, and they are regarded as the Apple of 3D Printers. They basically set the trend for the rest of the industry and the price points. If you buy a part from them? Drop shipped. You buy filament? Drop shipped. You buy basically anything from them that isn't a large piece of hardware, you can bet your ass it was drop shipped. I've placed orders directly from them that have been split into five separate deliveries from three different courier services. And this is /the Apple/ of 3D printers. There is an upside to all this; they'll make you whole if something weird happens, and they take their actual hardware very seriously to the point that they will tell you like twenty times not to throw out the box to your 90kg printer.

>>
>>18663257
A teen is not a kid. A kid is a child. Do you really think that's the same thing? If a watch is marketed as a "Kids Watch", no self-respecting teen would want it. And lower middle class? I don't know about that. We were middle class and my dad wouldn't have entertained the idea of a $300 watch. He matched me when I wanted to buy a $300 camera, but he was a Timex and Casio kind of guy and any time I tried to get more than $50 for shoes or anything I was quickly shut down.
No teenager should have a stupid PRX. They're irresponsible. And they don't appreciate shit like that anyway unless they have a watch freak dad and they're the one teen who thinks dad is cool. This is 2026. Old Jomashop watches are years-old misfires anyway.
I went back and checked and answered my own question. It's that it's made from plastic and rubber. That is what makes it a kids watch.
Thanks for using it as an opportunity to get the PRX name out there again. I'm sure eventually you can convince yourself it was worth the money.

>>
>>18663252
I'm not against the idea of giving a younger kid a relatively expensive watch, but the only thing I can figure is it's plastic? It's some kind of polymer or something right? So it's light and if it gets wet and other bullshit maybe that's better. But I'd rather just have steel watches on rubber or cloth straps.
