Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.
1st rule of /csg/: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

smaller number is the actual ram while the +number is the "extended" ram where you can set the system to use part of your storage space to act as memory
>>
>>108151089
Almost
>>108150152
The first number is the actual amount of RAM. The second number is how much swap space is allocated to act like RAM. It's a cheap trick because of rising ram prices. If you're unfamiliar with swap/how Linux handles memory, It's basically the same as a Windows pagefile.

I'm new to csg, aliexpress in particular and the gamification is overwhelming. Do diamonds actually do anything? Which game actually matters?
Also I'm looking for a new keyboard and have no experience. What do /csg/ use?

any recommendations for a cheap-ish (<$100) headset with mic? ideally not some garish LED covered gaymer gear shit so it looks presentable in work calls
or should i just get separate mic and headphones

not all hotswap mkbs can house all switches (e.g. regular 5 pin ones) you might have to cut out 2 plastic bits
VIA / qmk can help alot but i personally only use VIA because im a tard
some cheap mkbs might only have their inhouse software for editing keybinds, macros, etc.
be sure to always check what switch your in for. most generic switch would be "linears" or no feedback
>>

its not cheap, but i love my audio-technica M50x usb with mic.
Cheap headsets that are good are really rare, as the best speakers require expensive metals as part of the cost. My car has an aftermarket sound system, MTX speakers, giant magnets at the back of the speaker are a standard. You think that kind of metal is cheap?
Try something from Corsair or Razer IG, go to an electronics store and try some headsets on yourself, its something you'll use alot so you will want it to at LEAST feel comfortable.

It's obviously not the 60V to 5V3A buck converter the order claims it to be, but it does have +- 'b' pins and a fancy USB-C connector.

Thoughts on these 1.5V li-ion rechargeables?
They're not the type with a built in charging port so they should have a little extra capacity. Though that means buying a separate charger.
I'm thinking they'd be great for motorized electronics.

I like it. You can't change the font. it's a txt reader, but the page turns are like how you expect with a Kindle. middle is options, right side forwards, left side back. It has glass on both sides, so I will be adding cut to size protectors. It comes with a disposable bag, I've been using that as its bag, in my pocket.
as an mp3 player it has poor audio quality, but is at least loud. you can turn off the speaker and bluetooth. So the music player thing is a novelty, but it's sold as an "audio player" in China. The calendar is just a reference calendar.
the alarm can be used as a silent stop reading alarm if the speaker is off. It doesn't seem to have a timer, though.

I worry about chink batteries after watching this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y23nfAOiXQ
or you can read the report
https://www.lumafield.com/battery-report
tl;dr battery quality is impossible to tell visually, chink batteries are cheap but have shit QC, you won't know that until shit bursts into flames
>>
>>
>>
>>108159757 (me)
Actually read the report myself
It's only the low cost shit that have these problems, "rewraps" (idk) don't have that problem
Trustfire is on the report so that's nice
Liitokala I think is Panasonic rewrap. Don't see any USB-less 1.5V AA rechargeables on their shop though

https://bemighty.com/
>>
>>
>>108159927
My apologies. That's my fault. When I read Android device and I automatically went to phone in my mind. What's your budget for the device? Generally, you can get a really cheap Android phone and it'll be perfectly fine, especially if it's one of those miniature phones. Since the screen is so tiny, the battery life will be great and you can strap it to your arm or something, But there are also Android based MP3 players, but the quality of those is hit or miss from what I've been reading. If you provide your total budget, it would go a long way in helping us sort out or could be right for you.
>>
>>108159900
Obviously >Everything is already from China
I mean chink as in bought on aliexpress, with dubious reviews, from literally who brands that can disappear the next day, with QC sticker just for looks
I do admit I changed my opinion a bit after actually reading the review, Liitokala and Trustfire seem to be fine
>>
>>108159920
i did actually, you were just too stupid to get it.
companies selling their products in the US have an incentive to not lie or cheat because they'll get sued if they cut too many corners to the point of the products causing problems or not being as advertised.
>>
>>
>>
>>108159946
The literally who brands are just resellers trying to make a quick buck off the primary source. They're all the exact same batterys of the same quality from the same place.
I used to work in a factory that provided jobs for low-functioning autistic people. It was a T-shirt factory. Do you know what we had those auistic people do, we got generic white T-shirts from China, showed them how to use a special tool to remove the tag, sewed in our own tag, and ironed on a Harley-Davidson logo. And then we sold them.
Its the same exact thing.
>>
>>
>>108159969
You can look at the report and see that low cost batteries are defective and/or don't have the proclaimed capacity.
It's the same thing with cheap ass USBs. You telling me those 256gb sticks for 2 dollars are "just resellers trying to make a quick buck off the primary source"? This shit ain't T-Shirts bruh

and it has arrived
following some discussion a couple of weeks ago about "b-7000" glues and derivatives, decided to get a tube of "t-9000", since it was cheap on temu and i apparently never seen it before. surprise surprise, its just e-8000, aka clear b-7000.
also got yet another one of those "7.1 cHaNnEl sOuNd" usb sound card, with full intention of performing the regular "add bigger capacitor to output" mod to improve audio quality. but chang must have changed the chip used or something because this has just two resistors inline with the output (around c5 on pic related) and the audio quality is quite good, even has plenty of niggbass. the blob does get a bit warm (between 35 and 40 celsius) so im assuming its probably also using an integrated linear regulator instead of a more common ldo. it identifies asUSB\VID_08BB&PID_2902&REV_0100&MI_0on wangblows and uses the generic audio drivers. the only difference i can see from the outside, compared to the previous versions are the connectors are black instead of colored (the previous version identifies as0 USB\VID_1B3F&PID_2008&REV_0100&MI_0and also uses generic drivers)0

3 spg threads were nuked for breaking the board rules in under 8.hours and the 60 IQ baker just made another one. Never seen someone so buck broken by Apple before. If the kid bakes the threads without trolling iPhones in every thread op image than the threads wouldn't be nuked.
>>
>>
>>
>>108162515
What are you talking about? Anytime anyone looks up spg or even csg in the catalog it shows both generals even if you searched for just one of the other. Also other anons were talking about this since yesterday in this thread. >>108156162
Also the troll OP baker of spg is in here >>108156344 who deflects all the issues of spg and lies claiming someone is posting "schizo spam" when in reality it just facts about iPhones and the OP is a buck broken troll who can't afford even a iPhone 17 and instead of ignoring iPhone posts in a smartphone general they/them proceeded to ruining it for the past few months by baking troll OP images to start flamewars arguments. At least now it's being nuked like it should be when the troll bakes.
>>
>>
>>
>>108162658
Low tier bait
>>108162670
You claimed the spg mentions here are inorganic. The spg thread was nuked 3 times in 8 hours. This csg thread literally shows up when looking for spg and mentions spg in the op. How is that inorganic lol?
>>
>>108162693
It's inorganic because it hasn't been done in the past. Recently, people are spamming about the drama there. Nobody cares and its annoying. If you want to talk about smartphones, go to the smartphone general and talk about the drama there. Don't bring it here. It's stupid and unrelated.
>>
>>108162515
this board is getting fucked by rule breakers around the clock. part of it is AI article spamming and also e-celeb threads
and then you have the actual AI threads which has a lot of nsfw and needs to be cleaned once in a while
>>
>>
>>108162793
No the issue with spg is literally 1 anon that ban evades using ip changing websites and using a chan pass so they can utilize a vpn to keep trolling the board. Majority of board rule breaking is from chan pass users with a vpn. The spg anon ruining that general is just someone living in extreme poverty and cries when we mention any device over $1,000 and claims you should only spend $300 tops for a smartphone.
>>
>>108161584
>surprise surprise, its just e-8000, aka clear b-7000.
Yes, but the number is bigger so it must be better.
I have one of those sound cards. That's a GeneralPlus chip. That other ID is for a TI PCM2902, which I also have but mine identifies as C-Media when you plug it in.
USB audio has always been a mess, but I think we're at the point where even the mystery meat stuff justwerks.

I dont have a need for something like this, but it seems like a really good idea excluding the price.
It's a card style workstation that can fit in your pocket & bring your whole computer with you. They sell different docks ranging from simple base stations to hook up a keyboard, monitor & mouse; to a dock that converts it to a laptop and even a dock that includes a dedicated GPU for enhanced graphics performance.
Im really surprised no one else came up with an idea like this before. Imagine having multiple docks (one at work and one at home) to easily travel with all of your data in your back pocket

bros, chink phones are truly grim. I'm the IT jack of all trades at my company in charge of handing out phones and they buy the cheapest chinky shitty devices, their ROMs try to shove as much garbage on your face as possible, every time I do the initial bloat cleanup I get a notification to install an SNK gacha to get 5* Nakoruru (it's tempting) and they try as hard as possible to make their chinky apps the default. You think Google's is bad, you ain't seen nothing brother
Anyways today I had a worker coming in saying the phone stopped working after 1 day, somehow it uninstalled Play Store which I've never seen happen and I spent an hour searching for a fix. AI assistants kept telling me to "search Play Store on GetApps" STUPID CLANKER why would Chang give us a link to their competitor's store app IN their own store? Of course they don't. I wouldn't mind the chink store if it actually had any of the productivity apps we need for these work phones. I had to get this shady Aptoide store and that let me reinstall Play Store.
Thanks for reading my blog. FUCK Xiaomi

I bought this same model but it has a different brand. Haven't spent much time with it, but the selling point was the leds that show you if it's fully charged and I got a pair of AAs to charge until it showed green lights, then put them back in and it went back to red lights. Another pair of AAAs gave me flashing red which means an issue with the batteries or the connection but they worked after leaving them in the charger for a couple hours.
It might be these batteries are getting old, I'll have to keep testing

I recommend you buy a proper "smart" charger that lets you quick-test, proper test which takea hours, , "refresh" which means it cycles charge/discharge several times to renew old batteries. Also, the thing might be less prone to explode.
The above applies to NiMH batts, though, which is what I have experience with.
Ive got a BT C2400 battery charger, still available on Amazon, but again, its for NiMH cells. Make of that what you will.
Still looking for decent NiMH aa and aaa batts

That's all USB drives unless you pay a premium. It's especially bad on cheap high-volume disks, all storage, no speed.
By defective I mean fake capacity - OS says 256GBs, but in reality it's 8GBs being written over and over.

I guess I'll review the Gulikit one, because it's definitely unusual. It has the Switch face buttons, the iconic Sega d-pad (above the sticks, not below the left stick, like on Switch controllers), and it visually resembles an x-box controller. It's wireless and has a switch on the back that lets you switch between PC, iOS and Switch. I'm not quite sure who the audience for this is. Most of my controllers are Xbox style, and I'm not really used to this kind of layout. I'm guessing they were trying to Target a super rare Segafag audience on Switch. It doesn't have back buttons, which sucks, because I love not having to press the sticks and risk breaking them by remapping them to the back buttons. It's definitely a compact controller and feels unusual compared to the standard Xbox controller. I'd say it's for smaller handed people who find the Xbox controller too big.

My GameSaar controller feels two times bigger in comparison. I'm not really sure what kind of games outside of sidescrollers would benefit from this kind of dpad, but the fact that you already can do the same exact thing with your left stick (or even with a normal dpad), makes it kind of redundant. It's cool though.

The 8bitdo controller is the lightest controller I've ever held. I grew up playing games on a Sega Genesis, and this tiny motherfucker feels like coming home. The dpad has a matte finish and looks a bit out of place, but it feels really nice. This one has no triggers, but you'll notice the iconic Genesis controller layout: two rows of 3 buttons. This kind of layout feels awkward ane painful to use with normal PC games, but it would be incredible for Genesis emulation, and all kinds of fighting games. Love it as an emulatorfag. It's also wireless.
>>
>>108180122
You can definitely just plug them into your pc and play. Mind you, not all games support controllers or xinput, so you might have to tinker a bit to get some stuff to work. Some emulators also need to be manually mapped, which is annoying.

It's less that they're targeting Segafags (most actual Segafags are disappointed by the lack of six face buttons), more that fully-functional controllers with good d-pads in the primary position are both nearly nonexistent and highly requested. Elves 2 would be a perfect controller to me if it had at least two back buttons and a better gyro.
Since you have both Elves 2 and M30, I'm curious how the d-pads compare. I'm guessing Elves 2 has more pre-travel and is probably noisier. Does the M30 have a pivot?

I have simillar looking one. It's pretty good but you need good vacuum cleaner. I've used it a lot during renovation, it handles even very fine dust from cutting concrete. Works well with blasting cabinet too.

how do i do a router extender setup as follows

wifi 6 or newer 6e

not really that important these days. need a router that puts out a good signal which has both range and can penetrate walls, and your extender also needs to be decent
>what's it called
no real name for a normal router/extender setup. going deeper you can set it up in a "mesh node network" where it's optimized, requires a bit of setting up and your devices need to be able to support it
>what router can do this?
most routers can, and i suggest a newer "ax3000" class one at minimum, and you'll be able to find them by typing that in search

Any decent products that allow me to extend my wifi network into a different house 50-100 meters away and create a different wifi network as a repater on taht house 50-100 meters away?
I have many low end routers at home and a bunch of antennas, but the antennas are mostly small stuff for PCI wireless cards or USB network adapters, not that powerful
i wonder if i could just get a powerful router for the house with internet, or just get a powerful directional antenna for the non-internet house, and be done with it
>>
>>108191878
At that range you could probably get away with regular wifi (2.4GHz) and a couple directional antennas. There's stuff like WiFi HaLow for long distances though.
If you have physical access between the two that's actually still short enough even for ethernet, though running fiber would be better.
>>
>>108192036
>At that range you could probably get away with regular wifi (2.4GHz) and a couple directional antennas.
theres tons of interference though, theres like a dozen access points in the area

has anyone bought gpus from china before? if so, how is it? Encountered any issues with it?
My 3060TI might be dying, and I can't afford anything better so I'm considering a 4060 or something on par with my 3060TI.
My card starts artifacting when playing games and I had to drop the refresh rate to stop it from artifacting on desktop. In game it will have artifacts even after dropping refresh rate and setting frame rate limits. I'm afraid it will soon be over for my 3060TI.
Forget AMD 6000 and 7000 series cards since they're dogshit and don't support FSR 4. 9000 series is too pricey for me, even the 9060XT.

They cost around 6e each.
Trio came in a solid cardboard box that feels like smooth plastic, no real texture on the surface, but the cards feel surprisingly decent, not like just regular cheap playing cards.
Fake Artist is pretty much the same, some of the markers are difficult to see but I'm never playing it with 10 people anyways so it's no big deal.
Scout is the made the worst. The box it came in is flimsy cardboard, like what you'd buy cereal in. Cards feel like regular playing cards, the tokens above are whatever.
