I've followed the advise and built an offline lan with a fileserver and a windows XP box and a Windows 7 box (I have not taken my windows 10 machoine offline yet or sorted out a linux machine) I have all the drivers and patches and good installs and I have imaged them. I went to thrift and got a HUGE box of pre steam PC games and have been downloading their patches. I have moved and been editing my MP3 collection and filling in some gaps and added some pr0n and movies and shows I like and codecs, I have my python, C and C++ stuff and patches and libraries. I've been downloading my favorite youtube channels. Next I am going to get the offlinne wikipedia and gutenberg thing working. It's actually been fun doing it not a pain like anons say and reminded me of how good we used to have it. I will keep working away until I have everything I want then move my win10 machine on it and add more offline storage and just have fun there and just use a win10 laptop for webmail and 4chan. The internet was never going to survive corporations and governments. The old games are better too, I got sitracted and spent a night playing emepror battle for dune after just installing it off a DVD to have a look, it's really different to the kind of online games they make now and way better really. I followed advise here and just used old OEM motherboards and ISOs and windows XP and 7 just activated off the BIOS.

It's actually kind of fun. Getting windows 7 right was a bit difficult actually, XP was easy. You have to patch windows 7 in the right way or it does this shit about digital signatues but I got it working perfectly in the end with good drives and AHCI and nvdia drivers. The most diffiocult part was what order to put the patches on and the AHCI. Using XP and Win7 again makes you feel clean, like getting in a shower, offline so no logon, just boots into admin, you can get the OEM isos for them from the internet archive and they just activate immeditaely on the old OEM mother boards.

What can I realistically do about it other than switch to linux and use tor for browsing and get a new phone that I can put an independent OS on so I'm free of android and apple? Getting Windows 7 running with all of the security certificates is easy if you make sure to update your windows 7 iso with simplix update before burning it to your installation media.

Just download simplix update, drag and drop your windows 7 iso onto it, wait like 45 minutes, and simplix will shit out an updated iso you can burn to installation media so that your windows 7 system is up to date with all certificates the very moment you install the os. I've been using an updated iso since 2022 and its so much easier than installing the certificates manually. You can also run the updater on a system with 7 already on it and just update it that way too. Like one giant offline update package.

I think it adds USB 3.0 and NVMe support to windows 7 but I can't remember. No idea if it adds UEFI boot though.
I know for sure it includes a lot of the good security updates for Windows 7 while excluding stupid shit like microsoft edge update.

I almost forgot, you can activate your Windows 7 edition offline with KMS_VL_ALL, even if your motherboard doesn't have a 7 key on it. There are a lot of options for this but I just use the batch file option.

There are various USB 3.0 drivers. One was originally planned to be backported from Windows 8 but Microsoft cancelled it. Users managed to do it themselves though.
Other spergs use other hacked up drivers. I can't remember which ones old mate used.
NVMe drivers were a Windows update in 2015. Needs to be packed into the ISO beforehand.
